CivilGrid aggregates public and proprietary utility, geotechnical, environmental, and jurisdictional data. The consolidated information is sold via our collaborative SaaS mapping platform to engineers and developers who need it to make early-stage decisions on real estate and infrastructure projects. Real time data access reduces labor and project delays, accelerates decision making and reduces project risk. Collaborative features ensure faster information flow and decisioning inside and outside the organization and better project insight retention over time. Position Description We are seeking a full-time Utility Research Coordinator to join our collaborative data team. In this role, you will be responsible for completing well-defined tasks including utility research, outreach to utilities and cities to obtain data. This position is hybrid in Rock Hill, SC with occasional travel for team off-sites and client visits. Position starts at $50,000/year. Primary Functions: Research utility operations, public works assets, and asset management plans Communicate directly with public works offices and utility asset owners by email and phone Interpret maps, as-built drawings, and engineering plans at a basic level Track communications in internal applications Communicate with internal and external stakeholders about progress of requests and digitization Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree Excellent written and verbal communication skills Willingness to spend significant time communicating with external entities/organizations Detail-oriented and self-motivated, ability to operate independently working remotely Desired Qualifications: Experience with Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Experience with reading utility maps, as-built drawings, and engineering plans at a basic level Experience working with utilities and/or government agencies Experience researching and working with open source data What We Offer: Competitive salary Interesting & challenging work Company-sponsored health insurance Unlimited PTO FSA Remote work flexibility with a dynamic team environment Comprehensive benefits package and professional development opportunities.
