Position Description CivilGrid’s Data team uncovers and manages the foundational datasets underlying the CivilGrid app. In this role, you’ll be a key early hire for a new group within the Data team laser-focused on delivering insights from engineering record drawings and as-builts. In this role, you will: Lead and coordinate digitization tasks and workflows, ensuring alignment on timelines and priorities with stakeholders. Provide detailed markup and interpretation of utility engineering records and as-builts. Conduct quality assurance on digitized deliverables. Manage subcontractors, internal teams, and customers to facilitate smooth project execution and process scaling. Collaborate closely with Data and Customer Success leadership to refine operational processes. This role is ideal for someone who can bring structure, operational excellence, and practical utility engineering experience to a fast-moving startup environment. Who You Are: 2+ years experience in project management within subsurface utility engineering (SUE). Preferred: Additional background as a field technician and/or utilities research coordinator. Proficiency with project management tools and techniques (e.g., task tracking, stakeholder reporting, timeline management). Strong ability to interpret civil engineering plans, record drawings, and as-builts Comfortable with GIS and/or CAD software (ArcGIS, QGIS, AutoCAD, MicroStation) Process-driven and always looking to optimize Organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable working remotely with minimal supervision Excited to work in a fast-moving startup environment - you value autonomy, creativity, and impact #Perks Fast-moving, collaborative, small team where you’ll own meaningful outcomes from Day 1.
