Essential Responsibilities • Supervise Weld Technicians for PM's as well as support assignments. • Spec out welding equipment and tooling for new and existing product. • Attend run-offs for approving weld equipment and tooling. • Develop and establish weld parameters for new or existing equipment. • Troubleshoot welding problems and provide solutions accordingly. • Work to identify cost savings. • Communicate safe policies for job performance. • Schedule and attend necessary company meetings. • Work with other departments to solve problems. • Other duties may be assigned and changed as needed. Requirements • Bachelor's Degree in Weld Engineering or related field. • Extensive experience in weld assembly area of automotive support industry. • Supervisory experience. • Experience with quality and tooling related issues. • Knowledge of SPC and CMM data. • Tradesman certification based on experience. • Mechanical / Electronic studies or technical training. • Knowledge of resistance welding and robotics. • Excellent communication and organizational skills. • Strong leadership skills. • Computer skills .
