Become a Student Success Coach and Mentor Position Overview Join City Year, an esteemed AmeriCorps program dedicated to helping students thrive academically. As a City Year AmeriCorps Member, you will collaborate with a team to support students, classrooms, and entire schools, ensuring every child receives the high-quality education they deserve. Your Impact In this role, you will focus on mentoring and coaching students of various grade levels, helping them achieve academic success, improve attendance, and develop positive behaviors. Your responsibilities will include monitoring student progress, collaborating with teachers, and supporting classroom instruction. Main Responsibilities • Work directly with students individually and in small groups to enhance literacy and math skills. • Encourage student engagement and assignment completion through personalized learning activities. • Establish a behavior management strategy to foster a positive classroom environment. • Facilitate the development of interpersonal skills through structured learning strategies. • Collaborate with educational staff to track and analyze student progress using our data system. • Contribute to the creation of a safe and engaging classroom space alongside teachers. • Participate in school-wide initiatives to enhance student and family engagement. • Support and lead extracurricular programs that focus on academic enrichment and student development. • Help organize events that celebrate student achievements in various areas. To qualify, you must: • Be a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident. • Be between 17 and 25 years old by July 1, 2025. • Hold a GED or high school diploma (some college experience or a degree preferred). • Have completed no more than three terms of service in an AmeriCorps program. • Pass a background check. • Be available to commence service by July/August 2025.
