CITY OF WILMER, TEXAS EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY HUMAN RESOURCES GENERALIST POSITION SUMMARY The City of Wilmer is seeking a professional, organized, and service-oriented Human Resources Coordinator to support the City's workforce and organizational goals. This position assists with recruitment, onboarding, employee records, benefits administration, payroll coordination, policy compliance, and employee relations while providing exceptional customer service to City employees. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS · Coordinate recruitment, job postings, applicant tracking, interviews, and onboarding. · Maintain confidential employee personnel files and HR records. · Assist with benefits enrollment, changes, and employee questions. · Coordinate new employee orientation and offboarding processes. · Assist with payroll processing and employee status changes. · Administer leave tracking and maintain attendance records. · Support compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws. · Assist with policy development, employee training, and performance evaluation processes. · Respond professionally to employee questions and HR-related matters. · Perform other related duties as assigned. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS · High school diploma or GED required; associate's or bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Public Administration, or a related field preferred. · Two (2) years of progressively responsible human resources or administrative experience. · Strong organizational, communication, and customer service skills. · Proficiency with Microsoft Office and HR information systems. · Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS · Experience working in local government or the public sector. · Professional HR certification such as SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or IPMA-HR preferred. · Knowledge of employment law, benefits administration, payroll, and records management. SALARY & BENEFITS Salary is competitive and dependent upon qualifications and experience.
