Role Overview: As the Deputy Chief Information Officer, you will play a critical leadership role in managing the City’s information systems and technology infrastructure. You will support the CIO in strategic planning, operational management, and ensuring the delivery of secure, reliable, and innovative IT services across city departments. What You'll Do: - You will oversee the daily operations of the City’s information systems, ensuring optimal performance and security. - You will collaborate with department leaders to align IT initiatives with organizational goals. - You will lead and mentor a diverse team of IT professionals, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement. - You will manage vendor relationships and negotiate contracts to maximize value and service quality. - You will develop and implement policies and procedures that comply with city regulations and industry best practices. - You will drive digital transformation projects that enhance service delivery and operational efficiency. - You will monitor emerging technologies and recommend strategic investments to keep the City at the forefront of IT advancements. - You will ensure compliance with cybersecurity standards and manage risk mitigation efforts. What You Bring: - Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in IT management, preferably within the public sector. - Strong knowledge of information systems architecture, cybersecurity, and IT governance. - Proven leadership skills with experience managing large, multidisciplinary teams. - Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities. - Experience with budget management and strategic planning. - Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field; a Master’s degree is preferred. Bonus Points If You Have: - Experience working in municipal or government IT environments. - Certifications such as CISSP, PMP, or ITIL. - Familiarity with cloud computing platforms and digital transformation frameworks. - Demonstrated success in leading large-scale IT infrastructure projects.
