Job Summary Job Description Overview The Onboarding Lead Partner leads the onboarding function and directly supervises Onboarding Partners and Onboarding Assistants. This role ensures all onboarding activities are compliant, efficient, and aligned with organizational priorities. The Lead is responsible for process improvement, technology review, and recommending enhancements to both onboarding processes and supporting systems. As the primary escalation point for complex onboarding matters, the Lead collaborates with HR leadership, hiring managers, and other departments to deliver a seamless and positive onboarding experience for new hires. Essential Functions 1 Supervise, mentor, and develop the onboarding team—including Onboarding Partners and Onboarding Assistants—through coaching, training, performance management, and efficient workload distribution among the team to ensure service level agreements (SLAs) are met 2 Assess and optimize onboarding processes, implementing best practices and continuous improvements to enhance efficiency, compliance, and the new hire experience 3 Serve as the primary escalation point for complex onboarding issues, resolving challenges and ensuring adherence to policies and employment regulations 4 Collaborate with HR leadership, hiring managers, and other departments to align onboarding with organizational goals and workforce needs 5 Ensure all onboarding activities are compliant with organizational policies, employment laws, and regulatory requirements: oversee and ensure the accurate and compliant processing of all pre-employment requirements and conduct audits for legal compliance and accuracy. Analyze background check results using conviction matrices and job specifications, conduct thorough risk assessments, and make final decisions that protect and support the City’s best interests. Proactively escalate complex cases and provide guidance to stakeholders as needed 6 Lead the continuous review and updating of conviction matrices to ensure legal compliance and organizational relevance, collaborating closely with the HR Partner Manager and Legal Department to drive policy improvements 7 Coordinate and support hiring events, ensuring effective execution and a positive candidate experience 8 Distribute and analyze weekly hire reports, providing actionable insights and recommendations to leadership 9 Collect and act on feedback from new hires and hiring managers to improve onboarding processes and outcomes 10 Develop and deliver onboarding-related training to team members and stakeholders, creating resources and programs as needed 11 Prepare and assemble new hire materials, oversee HRIS data entry, and ensure timely completion of all onboarding steps 12 Perform other related duties as assigned 13 Lead or participate in the selection, implementation, and integration of onboarding technology solutions (e.g., HRIS, digital onboarding platforms, e-learning tools) 14 Coordinate with IT and HRIS teams to ensure onboarding systems are optimized for efficiency, compliance, and user experience 15 Monitor the effectiveness of implemented technologies and processes, soliciting feedback from team members and new hires to make data-driven recommendations for process and technology improvements to HR leadership. Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities • In-depth knowledge of onboarding best practices, employment laws, and HR compliance requirements • Strong leadership and supervisory skills, including experience in coaching, mentoring, and developing staff • Advanced analytical and problem-solving abilities, including process optimization and change management • Expertise in onboarding technology, HRIS, and digital workflow tools; ability to evaluate and implement new solutions • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments and influence stakeholders • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment • Commitment to confidentiality and compliance with data protection laws and organizational policies. Education MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or Management-related field. Experience • Five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in onboarding, HR, or talent acquisition. AND • Two (2) years of supervisory or lead work experience. Salary Range $70,080.75 - $87,600.93 The salary listed on this job posting is the starting salary range; amount offered will depend upon qualifications.
