Your Impact As a Communications Manager, you will be instrumental in amplifying our team’s voice and driving our strategic narratives. You'll develop and implement a comprehensive communications strategy, creating engaging content for executive communications, presentations, and various external channels tailored for diverse audiences. This role requires a strategic advisor who can simplify complex initiatives into clear, impactful stories that influence perception and enhance our brand narrative. Your contributions will significantly strengthen Cisco's market position and support our long-term growth initiatives. Key responsibilities include: • Design and implement a holistic communications strategy focused on M&A and investment initiatives. • Create original and engaging executive communications, including presentations, keynote speeches, press releases, and strategic content like reports and newsletters. • Evolve the Cisco Investments & Corporate Development narrative, refining messaging for M&A and Investments to resonate with key audiences across multiple channels. • Collaborate closely with Cisco Executives, Corporate Development, Business Unit leadership, and PR to synchronize and deliver messaging for company announcements related to acquisitions and investments. • Manage organizational perception through media relations and identify prominent executive speaking opportunities. • Ensure consistent and compelling brand messaging across the team, influencing our market presence effectively. Minimum Qualifications • 10+ years of professional experience, including 5+ years in communications within a high-tech, Private Equity, or Venture Capital environment. • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field. • Proven expertise in developing and executing comprehensive multi-channel communication strategies. • Skilled in crafting impactful presentations, speeches, and written content for senior leaders. • Experience in managing relationships with stakeholders across various organizational levels, including executives. Preferred Qualifications • Exceptional writing, editing, and presentation skills, particularly for executive-level content. • A history of transforming complex technical concepts into engaging, accessible narratives. • Strong project management abilities with experience leading high-impact initiatives. • Media relations experience and familiarity in managing external agencies or vendors. • Master's degree in a relevant field of study. Message to applicants applying to work in the U.S. and/or Canada: The starting salary range for this position is $196,000.00 to $247,000.00, reflecting projected salaries for new hires, not including incentive compensation, equity, or benefits. Individual pay depends on the candidate's hiring location, market conditions, and job-related skillset and experience. Details about location-specific salary ranges will be shared by the recruiter during the hiring process. Paid time off in the U.S. includes: • 10 paid holidays annually, plus additional floating holiday for non-exempt employees. • 1 paid day off for your birthday, a paid holiday shutdown at year-end, and 4 paid personal wellness days determined by Cisco. • Non-exempt employees receive 16 days of paid vacation annually, accruing at a rate of 4.92 hours per pay period. • Exempt employees participate in a flexible vacation program with no defined limit on vacation time off (subject to availability and some business limitations). • 80 hours of sick time off provided at hire and each January 1st thereafter, with up to 80 hours of unused sick time carried over year to year. • More paid time off can be requested for family emergencies. • Opportunity for 10 paid volunteer days per year. Non-sales roles also qualify for annual bonuses per Cisco’s policies. Employees on sales plans earn performance-based incentive pay alongside their base salary, with specific structures outlined for quota attainment.
