About the Role We are hiring an Accountant & Small Business Payroll Partner to own and grow our accountant referral partner network. We’re looking for someone who has worked in accounting and bookkeeping, loves payroll, and who has experience in relationship-based sales. The right person will focus on building trust with CPAs, accountants, bookkeepers, and other referring partners. You will nurture existing referral relationships, onboard new partners, handle all referral calls and inbound sales conversations, and run a simple, predictable partner-engagement system to drive long-term revenue. This is not a high-volume outbound sales role. Success comes from credibility, process, proactive communication, and delivering a world-class partner experience. Key Responsibilities: • Build and nurture long-term referral partner relationships with accountants, bookkeepers, and other trusted advisors • Research and develop targeted lists of high-fit CPA firms and conduct light outbound outreach • Manage the full referral lifecycle - take all referral calls and inbound sales calls, qualify prospects, and move them seamlessly into implementation • Execute our partner outreach strategy, including gifting, quarterly touchpoints, personalized follow-ups, and regular communication • Collaborate with leadership to provide feedback on messaging, partner experience, and referral barriers • Support partner-focused content efforts (educational outreach, simple nurture emails, personalized resources) • Attend select industry events, webinars, and networking opportunities • Record sales calls and maintain accurate notes • Maintain detailed tracking of partner activity and performance metrics in the CRMDeliver a consistent, high-quality partner experience that reinforces Cirrus’ reputation for responsiveness and accuracy Qualifications: • 2+ years in payroll, accounting, financial services, or payroll software competitors • 1+ years in business development, or channel/partner/relationship management • Exceptional relationship-building and communication skills • Process-driven, detail-oriented, and highly organized • Comfortable using CRM tools • Familiarity with Payroll Relief software is a strong plus (but not required) • Ability to travel periodically (industry events, partner visits) • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States Compensation & Structure: • Competitive base salary • Commission is paid quarterly as a percentage of closed client revenue • Benefits package consistent with Cirrus’ standard full-time offering • Health Reimbursement Account (HRA) • Cell Phone & Internet Reimbursement • 401(k) with employer match • 15 days of PTO • Paid holidays • Parental leave • Short-Term & Long-Term Disability What Success Looks Like in This Role: • You build a reliable, growing pipeline of referral partners • Referral volume and partner engagement increase quarter over quarter • Partners consistently report a positive, high-trust experience • Inbound sales conversations are handled quickly, professionally, and with high conversion • CRM and partner activity are accurately maintained Please email resume to info@cirruspayroll.com with the subject title CHANNEL Job Type: Full-time Pay: $75,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year Benefits: • 401(k) • 401(k) matching • Life insurance • On-the-job training • Paid time off • Travel reimbursement • Work from home Experience: • payroll or payroll software competitor: 2 years (Preferred) • Business development or channel/relationship mangement: 1 year (Preferred) Work Location: Remote
