We’re seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead brand and editorial content development from concept through delivery across marketing channels, including events, web, collateral, campaigns, video, and strategic initiatives. This role blends an understanding of brand storytelling and editorial excellence with operational rigor and firsthand knowledge of content platforms to drive efficient, high-quality execution. Reporting to the Director of Brand Strategy and Communications, the ideal candidate combines project leadership, creative sensibility, and technical fluency to ensure content is strategically planned, effectively managed, and seamlessly delivered. You’ll also guide project management practices across a functionally structured team—fostering collaboration, departmental alignment, and agility to support the company’s growing content ambitions. How you will contribute Own centralized intake of brand/editorial projects, including review and assessment of work requests, prioritization, and resource allocation Partner with internal stakeholders and agencies to develop briefs, project plans, scopes of work, timelines, project trackers, and status reports; manage budget and billing Coordinate deliverables with other project managers to manage dependencies, balance competing priorities, remove silos, and align functional contributions with project goals Oversee stakeholder communication and serve as an escalation point for risk management, conflicts, and complex projects Establish and manage workflows and set up tasks in Optimizely, ensuring relevant stakeholder engagement, progress tracking, and transparency at each phase Drive continual process improvement by recommending enhancements to project management governance within the functional operating model Ensure all deliverables meet organizational standards for quality, efficiency, and compliance Must haves 10+ years of project management experience, including 2+ years in a leadership capacity Demonstrated success managing editorial publishing cycles, upholding brand standards across deliverables and supporting campaign planning and execution Understanding of brand positioning and voice, editorial style, SEO, and content optimization fundamentals Proficiency with content management systems (CMS) such as Optimizely and digital asset management (DAM) platforms PMP, PgMP, or equivalent certification, and expertise in PM tools, practices, and implementation of PMO standards Organized and meticulous; adept at managing multiple projects in a demanding environment Strong communicator who builds trust, alignment, and accountability across teams High emotional intelligence; adapts communication to diverse audiences and situations Flexible problem solver who demonstrates resilience and adaptability in times of change Nice to have Experience advancing project management maturity models is a plus Pay Range: The annual salary range for this position in Canada is $104,300 - $166,700 CAD. The annual salary range for this position in the US is $110,400 - $176,400 USD. Pay ranges at Ciena are designed to accommodate variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions, and locations, reflecting our diverse products, industries, and lines of business. Please note that the pay range information provided in this posting pertains specifically to the primary location, which is the top location listed in case multiple locations are available. Non-Sales employees may be eligible for a discretionary incentive bonus, while Sales employees may be eligible for a sales commission.
