Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Certified Home Health Aide (CHHA) to provide exceptional in-home care to clients in the Essex County area. This part-time position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals requiring assistance with daily activities and medical needs. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in patient care, demonstrate excellent communication skills, and have experience working with diverse populations, including seniors, individuals with disabilities, and those requiring specialized dementia or Alzheimer's care. This role emphasizes professionalism, empathy, and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of patient safety and comfort. Duties • Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility support. • Support medication administration under supervision, ensuring proper dosage and timing as prescribed by healthcare providers. • Operate medical equipment like Hoyer lifts safely to prevent injury during transfers and mobility assistance. • Maintain a clean and safe environment by assisting with light housekeeping tasks such as laundry and meal preparation tailored to dietary needs. • Collaborate effectively with nursing staff and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care in home or community settings. Qualifications • Valid certification as a Home Health Aide from an accredited program; prior experience in home health or long-term care is highly preferred. • Demonstrated ability to observe patient conditions meticulously and communicate findings clearly. • Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities. • Knowledge of medical terminology relevant to home health care practices. • Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as HHA Exchange for accurate documentation of patient records and medical documentation. • Ability to work independently while maintaining a compassionate approach that respects client dignity and privacy. • Strong organizational skills combined with the flexibility to adapt to varying client needs in a dynamic environment.
