Please follow this link for a closer look at what it’s like to work at Children’s Wisconsin: https://www.instagram.com/lifeatcw/ The Coding Specialist II will work in collaboration with a variety of specialties such as Primary Care, Urgent Care, Specialty Care, Mental and Behavioral Health, ancillary, or specialty departments/locations/providers – with emphasis on Pediatrics & Adolescent Care in an ambulatory clinic (office) setting. The Coding Specialist II will code, review and release charges in a timely manner and to ensure correct coding, billing compliance and complete charge capture. 100% Remote Full time: (Monday-Friday) No weekends or holidays Qualifications: Education: High School Diploma, GED, or High School Equivalency Diploma (HSED) required. Certification: Coding certification (CPC, CCS, CCS-P, RHIT, or CCA) and/or Health Information Management credential (RHIT) required. Experience: Minimum of 2 years of healthcare coding. Preferred: Experience with Epic and remote work capability. Knowledge & Skills: Proficient in ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding guidelines. Working knowledge of CCI edits, healthcare insurance rules, and regulatory guidance. Prior experience using an Electronic Health Record (EHR) system. Strong oral and written communication skills. Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and solve problems effectively. Demonstrates guiding behaviors that reflect Children’s values and support its mission and vision. Work Environment: Remote work (home-based). Standard office environment with no reasonable potential for exposure to blood or other high-risk body fluids.
