CERTIFIED NURSING ASSISTANT (CNA) REPORTS TO: Director of Nursing Job Overview: The Certified Nursing Assistant is responsible for ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and PPEC policies and procedures. Certified Nursing Assistants are to contribute encouragement, guidance, and genuine concern for the patient's daily accomplishments and promote the health, safety and emotional support of the children we serve. CNA’s are responsible for assisting with activities of daily living and performing other specific nursing tasks. Requirements: • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) • Current license as a Certified Nursing Assistant in the State of Florida • Have a minimum of one (1) year working with children between the ages of birth to Age 21 • Current certification in CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) and BLS (Basic Life Support) • Level 2 Background Check Professional Qualifications: • Alertness and careful observation of their patient’s health and safety • Excellent attendance and punctuality • Reliable and flexible • Maintains clean appearance • Ability to accept accountability for job performance • Promotes compassion and understanding for patients needs • Ability to demonstrate and provide examples of continuous personal development and improvement in each of the essential functions listed in the section below • Ability to work within a cohesive, successful team • Excellent verbal and written communication skills • Ability to follow all safety for the child and monitor the equipment for safety Responsibilities: • Performs technical aspects of patient care according to established policies and procedures, utilizing proper technique under the supervision of an RN or LPN. • Communicates patient condition, responses, and the effectiveness of nursing intervention to the primary care nurse. • Ensures the comfort and safety of assigned patients at all times while on duty. • Assists in maintaining a clean, safe, and attractive environment in all areas of the center. • Maintains inventory list for medical/daily supplies and makes a list of items needed once a month to give to office manager. • Will accompany children on transport van according to policy and procedure if requested by Director of Nursing and/or administrative team. • Practices universal precautions at all times. Physical Demands: • Heavy caseload of patients • Standing and walking during work shifts • Lifting and transferring of patients • Carrying and lifting of equipment • Sitting at desk • Able to lift 50 pounds and more.
