Summary: Provide daily oversight to the Echocardiography department and assists in management of assigned staff in order to provide optimal patient care through cultivating a positive working relationship with leadership, physicians and hospital staff. Leads, trains, and mentors all staff, students, and fellows, in the operation of the echo department as well as equipment used to produce quality diagnostic images. Oversees scheduling for multiple locations, performs and/or assists with clinical coordination, quality assurance programs and maintaining ICAEL accreditation for the Echo Lab. Maintains and implements knowledge of all the rules, regulations, policies, procedures, laws, and guidelines that impact the Echo lab and ensures that the area is in compliance. Seeks advice and guidance as necessary to ensure proper understanding. This position may require frequent travel to alternate locations. Responsibilities: • Assists in the selection, training, motivation, supervision, and evaluation of the Echocardiography department to ensure maximum utilization of individual and group capabilities, while providing optimal service to internal and external customers. • Leads in ICAEL certifications renewal and QA process; maintains registry credentials and certifications • Performs inpatient and outpatient diagnostic cardiac sonograms in accordance with the American Society of Echocardiography (ASE) guidelines for digital image acquisition. • Responsible for performing, archiving and preliminary reporting of all pediatric cardiac ultrasound imaging. • Works with medical director in creating and updating echocardiography protocols with physician leaders; as well monitor quality and compliance to the protocols and provide feedback on an individual basis regarding QA issues • Provide assistance in obtaining studies to be presented in ICAEL meetings and echo conference • Provides support at outreach clinics/sites for echos, as necessary, and schedules sonographers appropriately • Create schedules for all CMC sites, on call and outreach facilities to ensure appropriate coverage and service agreements are met • Maintains equipment including assisting with troubleshooting and vendor contact as needed to facilitate proper levels of operable equipment for the department. Assist in new equipment analysis, evaluation and PO • Preceptor for all staff, students and fellows. • Stays abreast of the latest developments, advancements, and trends in Echocardiography by attending seminars and workshops, reading professional journals and maintaining an ARDMS certification and integrates this knowledge into the job as appropriate. Ensures that assigned staff receives opportunities to further their knowledge. • Identifies and analyzes the design of jobs, work processes and work flow for the department and works with manager to implement appropriate changes to improve effectiveness, productivity, and efficiency. • Ensures that stock of supplies are maintained. Make certain that equipment is kept clean, supplied and in excellent working order WORK EXPERIENCE • At least 2 years related experience Req • previous leadership experience or demonstrated skill required Req EDUCATION • Two-year Associate's degree or equivalent experience Req • Four-year Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience Pref LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS • Certified in two (2) of the following: Fetal, Adult, Vascular Pref • Certified in Pediatric (ARDMS Certification preferred; CCI acceptable) Req • Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers as required by CP 1.20 Life Support Course Requirements Req A Place Where You Belong We put our people first.
