Position Description TEACH Early Childhood Minnesota is a scholarship program that helps early childhood and school-age educators increase their levels of education, compensation, and commitment to the field by earning college credits and degrees. The TEACH Program Counselor is responsible for providing support and guidance to scholarship recipients, over all case management, and maintaining relationships with participating employers and colleges. The TEACH program is part of the Financial Supports Department. This position will support the overall work of the department, collaborate with team members, programs, and ensure contract deliverables are achieved. This position will report to the TEACH Manager. Duties & Responsibilities • Coordinate services to recipients of TEACH Scholarships. · Serve as first point of contact for TEACH Scholarships- communicating with potential recipients, responding to requests for information and application materials · Review and process applications and award scholarships · Maintain files and database of recipients and sponsors according to established procedures · Provide technical assistance via email and phone regarding the TEACH process to employers, recipients & college personnel · Build relationships with TEACH recipients and provide academic and career counseling • Serve as a liaison between the TEACH Program and key partners. · Perform outreach efforts to recruit employers and potential recipients · Develop and maintain partnerships with other agencies and provider organizations, to promote TEACH and all Child Care Aware programs · Maintain partnerships with TEACH National · Maintain relationships with college Early Childhood and Financial Aid/Administration departments through regular contact · Participate and assist with Advisory Committee meetings • Collect and evaluate program data to regularly assess the scholarship program, suggest improvements and produce reports. · Assess the need for new scholarship models or procedures and make proposals · Review recipient and employer surveys looking for ways to improve services · Track and pull data to create reports for funders and T.E.A.C.H. National Office · Assist with updating and maintaining program documents • Support the organization’s mission, vision, strategic plan and anti-racism goals by participating in activities and professional development opportunities. · Participate in staff meetings, workgroups, or taskforces to assist with achieving the organization’s goals · Assist CCA with implementing the organization's strategic plans by embedding the goals into the everyday work · Participate in professional development activities to strengthen your understanding and skills around diversity, equity, inclusion and anti-racism Qualifications Required · An associate’s degree with 2 years of experience working with adult learners and/or academic counseling · Excellent communication and organizational skills · Excellent data entry skills · Ability to assume responsibility for the completion of assignments · Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Google programs · Independent worker/comfortable working with staff in remote locations · Demonstrated intercultural competency skills and experience working cross-culturally, with a commitment to incorporating the principles of diversity, equity and inclusion into your work.
