$200K - 400K a year
Lead growth initiatives for midsize companies by developing and implementing marketing strategies that drive measurable pipeline, revenue, and ROI improvements.
Must have held VP of Marketing or CMO roles at large companies with experience in B2B SaaS/Tech marketing, demand generation, and performance marketing focused on pipeline and revenue outcomes.
Is your love for leading a company based on market dynamics coming into conflict with the realization that you are tired of working for giant companies? Would you love the idea of hands-on working as part of the management team of 2 or 3 companies at once, supported by 125 other world-class fractional executives? If you have held the position of VP of Marketing or CMO at one or more large Operating Companies, but don’t want to go back and do it again, you may be a fit for what we do. Chief Outsiders (www.ChiefOutsiders.com) is a national company that is growing very quickly and is looking to add CMOs in multiple US markets. What We Do Our focus is on helping midsize companies grow via implementing major growth initiatives in strategy, marketing, and business management in a way that will continue to drive top-line growth long after we are gone. What We Look For We are looking for C-level operating executives who approach business from a market-based perspective. You must have held the position of VP of Marketing or CMO at one or more large operating companies. We are looking for people who have the experience to help a CEO or business owner understand where and how to grow and then determine which marketing tools to apply to make big things happen. Performance Marketer Profile We are especially interested in CMOs who define success in pipeline, revenue, and ROI. The right leaders: • Drive measurable outcomes – doubling pipeline, improving lead quality, and increasing conversion rates. • Build demand generation engines – leveraging marketing automation, content, SEO/SEM, ABM, and data-driven strategies. • Focus on attribution and ROI – creating dashboards and closed-loop reporting that tie marketing activity directly to revenue, CAC, and LTV. • Have B2B SaaS & Tech roots – where marketing is held accountable for pipeline contribution and performance metrics. What It Takes To Succeed Inquisitiveness, resilience, and knowledge. There is not a canned Chief Outsiders approach. To succeed you need to be able to help the CEO and leadership team understand what the real business problems are and then develop and implement a plan that fits the company, opportunity, and competitive situation. Compensation This is not an “eat what you kill” environment, but we use a revenue share compensation model. You are paid a percentage of the billings for the projects that you work on. You get a bigger share of the revenue if you bring in the lead, but there are company-funded programs to help you bring in leads. Most of our CMOs target taking home over $200,000 a year, with some making double that amount.
