The Office for Students with Disabilities (OSD) works to support networks, schools, and families with all issues related to special education including instruction, interventions, and legal and compliance support. OSD provides the tools and resources to ensure that all students with disabilities receive a high-quality public education that prepares students for success. OSD supports networks, schools, and families with all issues related to special education, including instruction, interventions, and legal and compliance support. Job Summary: Reporting to the Business Operations Administrator, the Program Coordinator provides operational and administrative support by tracking timelines for OSD procedures, SOPs, and project deliverables to ensure district compliance and keep leadership informed. Assists with drafting and distributing policy-aligned communications while helping cross-functional teams resolve day-to-day administrative bottlenecks during resource rollouts. This is a full-time, exempt position that will be paid for time worked on a salary basis. The Program Coordinator will be held accountable for the following responsibilities: Develop and maintain schedules and timelines for updating department procedures, guidance, and operational materials across OSD teams to ensure continuous compliance with district and regulatory compliance standards Support the Business Operations Administrator with drafting, formatting, and distributing internal and external messaging, ensuring all Office communications accurate reflect OSD policies Partnership with cross-functional teams to review existing workflow documents and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), making necessary revisions to keep resources clear and functional for school-support teams Track progress on internal Office projects and document revisions, keeping leadership informed of upcoming deadlines and potential delays Help resolve day-to-day administrative or operational bottlenecks when rolling out revised guidance, forms, or communication materials Other duties as assigned In order to be successful and achieve the above responsibilities, the Program Coordinator must possess the following qualifications: Education Required: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university Master’s degree preferred Project Management Professional (PMP) certificate preferred Experience Required: Minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience in supporting program and/or coordinating projects required Minimum of two (2) years of experience leading the planning and implementation of complex operational initiatives preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Ability to deliver high quality projects in a fast paced environment with shifting priorities Ability to work independently with little or no supervision Knowledge of IDEA, ADA, and other relevant policies and procedures Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously Strong organizational and time management skills Strong collaborative skills; ability to work collaboratively with multiple teams Strong communication skills (speaking - including presentations - listening, and writing) Ability to identify risks and opportunities Strong knowledge of project management tools and resources Benefits: Health & Wellness: Your Care, Your Choice CPS is committed to providing comprehensive health coverage to our employees and their eligible dependents. Conditions of Employment As a condition of employment with the Chicago Public Schools (CPS), employees are required to: Establish/Maintain Chicago Residency - Employees are required to live within the geographic boundaries of the City of Chicago within six months of their CPS hire date and maintain residency throughout their employment with the district. The Chicago residency requirement does not apply to temporary/part-time positions, however, all CPS employees must be residents of Illinois.
