Job Summary: The Operations Manager will lead and oversee daily operations for both the Irrigation and Construction Departments. This individual will be responsible not only for supervising field teams and ensuring successful project execution, but also for developing, implementing, and refining operational systems that support efficiency, scalability, and long-term growth. This role is ideal for a proactive, strategic thinker with hands-on landscaping experience and a passion for team development and process optimization. Key Responsibilities: Team Leadership & Management • Supervise and mentor crew leaders, field technicians, and support staff • Recruit, onboard, and train team members with a focus on performance and growth • Implement field training protocols and standard operating procedures (SOPs) • Foster a culture of accountability, safety, and professional development Project Oversight • Plan, coordinate, and monitor daily job schedules and resource allocation • Conduct routine site inspections to ensure quality control and adherence to design specifications • Address and resolve project challenges in real time to avoid delays or rework Customer Relations • Serve as the operational liaison for key clients and stakeholders • Provide site consultations, technical input, and client support as needed • Ensure customer satisfaction through quality service and responsive communication Operational Efficiency & Systems Development • Design and refine internal workflows for job scheduling, crew deployment, equipment management, and material procurement • Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for both irrigation and construction departments • Implement systems to track labor, equipment usage, material costs, and job profitability • Work with office staff to integrate field operations with administrative systems (CRM, job costing software, scheduling tools) • Identify bottlenecks and inefficiencies; recommend and execute process improvements • Establish performance metrics and reporting systems to monitor departmental KPIs and support data-driven decision-making Qualifications: • 5+ years of experience in landscaping, irrigation, or outdoor construction, including 2+ years in a supervisory or management capacity • In-depth understanding of irrigation systems, drainage solutions, and hardscape/landscape construction practices • Experience designing and implementing scalable systems and procedures in a fast-paced field service environment • Proficiency in using field service software, spreadsheets, and basic project management tools • Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record (CDL a plus) • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus Preferred Certifications: • St. Louis County Backflow Inspection License • OSHA 10 or 30 Certification • ICPI/NCMA certifications or similar credentials in landscape construction Job Type: Full-time Pay: $70,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year Benefits: • Dental insurance • Health insurance • Life insurance • Paid time off • Tuition reimbursement • Vision insurance Ability to Commute: • Chesterfield, MO 63005 (Required) Ability to Relocate: • Chesterfield, MO 63005: Relocate before starting work (Required) Work Location: In person
