Charles Taylor is a highly successful global provider of professional services to the insurance industry. We are seeking an enthusiastic Editor for our team. This is a remote role for the Orlando, FL area. Job Summary The Editor is responsible for editing and proofreading investigative reports and tailoring reports to client-specific requests. This candidate will be reviewing reports for content, confirming that client objectives are met, and contacting investigators/regional case managers for clarification and details regarding reports. The right person also reviews video and audio footage sent in by field investigators. Applicants must have excellent communication skills and a thorough knowledge of principles of composition and grammar. This is a fast-paced growing office that requires someone to be able to multitask, work independently and take initiative. This position is entry level with room to advance. Training is provided and we promote within. Responsibilities • Review investigative reports for content and confirming client objectives are met. • Review investigative video and audio footage. • Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. • Work under immediate supervision. The Editor will eventually work independently and make decisions with guidance from the Director of Client Services. • Other duties may be assigned. Skills • Must be able to take direction, follow up, take initiative and complete tasks in a timely manner. Ability to prioritize, multitask and take direction from multiple adjusters is essential. • Maintain regular and acceptable attendance at such level as determined in the Company’s sole discretion; ensure work responsibilities are covered when absent; arrive at meetings and appointments on time. • Display strong interpersonal skills and work co-operatively with others to achieve a common goal. • Show adaptability, initiative, and dependability and must maintain absolute confidentiality with respect to the Company’s proprietary information. • The employee must have excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks, manage competing demands, handle multiple tasks simultaneously, perform under pressure and meet deadlines. • Employee must include appropriate people in decision-making process; make timely decisions and follow through on all assignments to ensure completion. • Employee may be required to work overtime to complete the essential functions of the position. It is unlikely that travel for business purposes will be required. Qualifications & Experience • Ability to understand written and oral communication. • Ability to communicate clearly and accurately, both orally and in writing, and to prepare reports and correspondence. • Capable of responding effectively to requests for information • Excellent spelling, grammar and proofreading skills. • Ability to apply common sense understanding to problems and to carry out instructions. • Problem solving skills involving variables in a standardized situation. • Proficient skills with Microsoft Office applications, electronic mail system, and routine database activity. • Ability to type 50 wpm. • High school diploma or general education degree (GED). • Bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism, or Communications preferred.
