Description We are seeking a strategic and technically adept Solution Engineer to join our team as an integral part of our strategic projects. This role is a critical bridge between our enterprise partners and our product/engineering teams, focusing on turning complex business needs into valuable, scalable embedded financing solutions. In this role, you will be responsible for consulting with large merchants and financial institutions, understanding their unique business drivers and technical architecture, and aligning our platform to deliver measurable strategic value. Success requires a blend of deep technical understanding, executive-level communication, and a consultative, problem-solving mindset. Responsibilities Partner Consulting & Strategy • Act as the trusted technical advisor and primary point of contact for strategic, enterprise-level partners, cultivating relationships with executive and senior technical stakeholders. • Conduct deep-dive discovery sessions to thoroughly understand partners' strategic business goals, complex technical requirements, and payment ecosystem challenges (e.g., POS architecture, core banking systems, financing environment). • Proactively identify and articulate opportunities where our embedded financing platform can drive transformational business outcomes, revenue growth, and enhanced customer experience for the partner. Solution Design and Implementation: • Work closely with Solution Architects, Product Managers, and Engineering teams to design innovative and resilient solutions that meet intricate enterprise partner requirements while balancing technical feasibility and long-term product strategy. • Translate high-level business requirements and technical constraints into detailed solution specifications, flow/sequence diagrams, and functional designs that serve as the guide for implementation teams. • Ensure the seamless integration of our embedded financing platform with partners' existing systems and infrastructure. • Collaborate with internal teams to define and document technical implementation plans. Sales and Business Development Support: • Support the sales team in pre-sales activities by conducting technical presentations, demonstrations, and solution walkthroughs to potential partners. • Provide technical expertise and guidance during partner negotiations and contract discussions. • Assist in the development of proposals and responses to RFPs/RFIs, ensuring alignment with partners' needs and objectives. Project Management Support: • Provide technical oversight and governance during project implementation, acting as the liaison between the partner's technical teams and our internal delivery teams. • Define and document clear, phased technical implementation plans and success criteria, helping to unblock technical roadblocks and mitigate scope creep. • Provide ongoing support and troubleshooting assistance to partners during the implementation and post-launch phases. Requirements Foundational Requirements • Education: Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field. • Experience: Proven, progressive experience (2+ years) working as an Enterprise Solution Engineer, Solution Architect, or pre-sale engineer for a B2B SaaS platform. • Industry Expertise: Deep, demonstrated experience within the Payments, FinTech, Lending, or e-Commerce ecosystem, specifically collaborating with large merchants, banks, or financial institutions. • Technical Acumen: Strong understanding of RESTful APIs, security protocols (e.g., OAuth, tokenization), and complex system integration methodologies. • Consulting & Communication: Exceptional communication and presentation skills with a proven ability to convey complex technical architectures and strategic value propositions clearly to both engineers and executive audiences. • Technical Acumen: Strong understanding of enterprise architecture patterns, RESTful APIs, security protocols (e.g., OAuth, tokenization), cloud-native services, and complex system integration methodologies. Preferred Qualifications: • Business Acumen: Demonstrated ability to go beyond technical requirements and articulate a solution's Return on Investment (ROI) and overall business impact. • Hands-on Capability: Demonstrated technical proficiency sufficient to debug integration issues, analyze API traffic, and create technical proofs-of-concept (POCs) using scripting languages (e.g., Python, JavaScript, or Java).Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail. • Project Governance: Experience managing the technical track of large-scale enterprise integration projects, including defining milestones, managing scope, and mitigating technical risks. • Preferred Domain Knowledge: Familiarity with Buy Now, Pay Later (BNPL) models, core banking systems (CBS), merchant processing, or complex e-commerce platforms. • Proven ability to collaborate effectively with diverse internal and external stakeholders while managing competing priorities across parallel projects. NYC Posting: In accordance with New York City Local Law 32, the expected salary for this role is between $130,000-$180,000. This role may be eligible for additional compensation in the form of bonuses and/or stock options.
