Salary: Starting Salary Range $150,000-$175,000; commensurate with experience Position: The Director of Implementation & MTSS Innovation plays a pivotal role in elevating CharacterStrong as a leader in providing consultative support, professional development, and technical assistance to schools to advance implementation of MTSS and other priority initiatives in schools. This leader is responsible for expanding the reach and impact of the implementation arm by establishing high-value partnerships and contracts with school systems. They leverage their knowledge and experience to integrate evidence-based practices and implementation science, consulting on regional or district-wide efforts. This ensures schools receive the essential tools, training, and coaching needed to achieve successful implementation in the service of better outcomes for students. As the leader of CharacterStrongs Implementation team, the Director will be essential in continuously enhancing and refining the quality of all implementation resources and tools, ensuring rigorous alignment with implementation science and evidence-based practices. In addition, will oversee and directly fulfill implementation services, including high-quality consultative services, professional development, and certification trainings, delivered with excellence. Key Responsibilities MTSS Implementation Leadership: • Conduct needs assessments with districts to identify gaps across Tier 1, 2, and 3 systems and practices. • Develop comprehensive implementation plans grounded in improvement and implementation science. • Provide consultative servicesincluding coaching, case consultation, and structured implementation supportsto help districts improve student outcomes. • Represent CharacterStrong in webinars, demos, sales calls, presentations, and district engagements (68 days of on-site service delivery per month). Needs Assessment and Program Implementation: • Conduct thorough assessments to identify the specific needs of students and educators at different intervention levels. • Work closely with schools, community mental health agencies, and families to implement intervention programs, providing guidance and support to ensure successful integration into existing curricula. Professional Learning, Training, and Travel: • Develop and deliver engaging professional development, training content, and educator resources. • Facilitate case consultation sessions, workshops, and virtual learning experiences for Tier 13 supports. • Gather feedback and evaluate training effectiveness to improve PD offerings. • This role requires significant travel (50% of the job) to deliver on-site professional development, covering all 50 U.S. states, U.S. territories, and Canada. Product & Content Innovation • Lead the design and development of intervention materials and resources for CharacterStrong program offerings such as certifications, train-the-trainer, custom professional learning with relation to MTSS, PBIS, implementation science, and restorative practices. • Conduct discovery research for new product opportunities and guide innovations from concept to prototype to Go-To-Market. • Collaborate with curriculum developers, educators, researchers, and product teams to ensure all resources are high-impact, evidence-based, and aligned with MTSS best practices. • Make data-driven recommendations for content and program improvements. Leadership & Team Management • Provide direct leadership, coaching, and ongoing development to members of the Implementation and MTSS Innovation team. Establish clear goals, workflows, and expectations that promote excellence, ownership, and cross-functional collaboration. • Support team members in delivering high-quality professional learning, district consultation, and implementation supports. • Foster a strengths-based, feedback-rich culture grounded in CharacterStrongs values of kindness, excellence, and problem-solving. • Ensure the team stays aligned to organizational priorities, meets project timelines, and consistently improves the effectiveness and reliability of our MTSS implementation supports. Collaborate with internal leaders across Product, Research, Professional Learning, and Customer Success to ensure the teams work is tightly integrated and operationally smooth. Partnerships, Outreach & Advocacy • Build strong relationships and develop revenue-generating partnerships with districts, educators, and community organizations • Write and support proposals, RFP responses, and service agreements related to MTSS implementation. Senior Director of MTSS • Advocate for whole-child, multi-tiered systems of support through workshops, conferences, and community engagements. • Elevate district success stories to showcase the impact of CharacterStrongs tools and services. Required Qualifications • Minimum of 8+ years of experience in education, curriculum development, or a related field, with a focus on MTSS and evidence-based practices. • Ability to lead and coach a team to meet key performance indicators with excellence. • Strong understanding of mental health, evidence-based practices, and implementation science. • Demonstrated success in coaching and consulting with small and large school districts to align strategic initiatives and produce meaningful outcomes • Demonstrated expertise in curriculum development, intervention design, program implementation, or related work. • Must enjoy and be comfortable with regular travel for in-person service delivery. They must also have significant flexibility in their weekly schedule to accommodate the varied scheduling requirements of our school partners. • Strong stage and presentation presence, supported by positive audience feedback. • Excellent written and verbal communication skills • Ability to create engaging and impactful educational content. • Proficiency in using educational technology and multimedia tools. • Strong organizational and project management skills. • Ability to work collaboratively in a remote team environment. • Empathy, creativity, and a passion for making a positive impact in education.
