Full Description

Chapman and Cutler LLP is seeking a highly analytical Public Finance Project Coordinator to join the Public Finance Department in our Chicago office. This role offers a blend of analytical work and document management/coordination tasks, making it ideal for individuals who excel at problem-solving, enjoy working with data, and have a keen eye for detail. This is an excellent opportunity to apply your analytical skills in a dynamic legal environment. You will play a key role in supporting local government securities transactions by gathering, analyzing, and synthesizing information from multiple sources, preparing detailed spreadsheets, and ensuring the accuracy and completeness of data used in securities disclosure documents. You will also be responsible for gathering, organizing, and tracking source documents and data, coordinating with clients and team members, and maintaining systems for document and data management. This position is well-suited for a recent graduate or early career professional seeking to work with one of the country’s preeminent law firms in state and local government finance. The position requires an in-office presence in the Chicago office but includes flexibility for some remote work. No prior public finance experience is required. We welcome candidates with strong analytical and organizational skills who are independently motivated, embrace ownership of their responsibilities, and are eager to learn and grow in a collaborative environment. Key responsibilities, after necessary training, will include the following, all subject to guidance and supervision by managing attorneys and other professionals: • Participate in the preparation of municipal securities public offering documents and secondary market disclosures by compiling financial, demographic and other quantitative data into spreadsheets and other documents. • Analyze and interpret financial and legal information from various sources to support public finance transactions. • Prepare, edit, and format documents with precision, ensuring compliance with issuer client, attorney and securities law specifications. • Track, obtain, organize, and maintain source documents and data from clients and third-party professionals for use in the preparation of spreadsheets and reports, ensuring records and document management systems are up-to-date and compliant with established procedures. • Calendar production schedule deadlines and proactively prepare documents in advance for review by supervising attorneys and other professionals on the legal team. • Coordinate with team members and external parties to meet client deadlines and securities laws filing requirements. • Communicate effectively with issuer clients, investment bank deal participants and supervising attorneys via telephone and e-mail. • Keep supervising attorneys and other municipal disclosure professionals informed of the status of all work. Desired qualifications are as follows: • Bachelor’s or associate’s degree • Proficiency in MS Word and Excel • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to interpret and synthesize complex information • Excellent attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines • Outstanding communication and organizational skills • Teamwork and customer service orientation • Commitment to following all Firm security protocols and maintaining information security In accordance with the Illinois Pay Transparency Law, the expected salary for this Illinois position is $65,000.The benefits overview for this position is available for review at the below link.
