Position PurposeAs a Technical Project Manager (TPM), you will support our client PetSmart in managing and delivering IT and data-related projects. You will work closely with business stakeholders, data managers, and technical teams to ensure the successful execution of projects with a focus on data platform capabilities.Key ResponsibilitiesTechnical & Product Ownership • Drive product ownership for data platform capabilities; define and maintain product roadmaps. • Prioritize features and enhancements based on business value, feasibility, and stakeholder needs. • Manage backlog and ensure timely delivery of high-impact features. Team Leadership • Lead cross-functional teams of data engineers, BI developers, and integration specialists. • Facilitate Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, stand-ups, retrospectives, and demos. • Mentor team members and foster a culture of accountability and innovation. Stakeholder Management • Serve as the primary liaison between business and technical teams. • Translate business requirements into clear technical specifications. • Communicate project progress, risks, and dependencies effectively to stakeholders. Governance & Compliance • Ensure adherence to data quality, security, and compliance standards. • Collaborate with governance teams to enforce best practices. Project Management Execution • Create and maintain project plans, Gantt charts, and status reports. • Manage risks, dependencies, and issue resolution across projects. • Apply Agile and Waterfall methodologies as appropriate. Required Skills & Experience • 8+ years of hands-on experience in Technical Project Management. • Strong understanding of Agile methodologies and Scrum practices. • Proven ability to manage risks, dependencies, and stakeholder communication. • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to triage technical issues. • Experience in preparing project documentation (Gantt charts, dashboards, status reports). Good to Have • Experience with JMS-compliant message brokers and related administration. • Working knowledge of Java; ability to read and troubleshoot code. • Exposure to ESB/EAI/SOA integration patterns and SDLC processes. • Hands-on with XML, XSD, DTD, XSLT, XPath, JSON. • Experience with REST & SOAP APIs (server and consumer). • Familiarity with BI, data warehousing, data modeling, and data architectures. • Strong SQL scripting experience (SQL Server, Oracle preferred). Qualifications • Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Business, Analytics, Supply Chain, or related field. • 5+ years of experience in demand planning, forecasting, replenishment, or related functions (or equivalent education + experience). Key Qualities • Strong critical thinking, analytical, and decision-making skills. • Technical aptitude with strong troubleshooting/problem-solving ability. • Excellent communication skills (verbal & written). • Experience in user training and facilitation of business processes.
