Senior Payroll Specialist Department: Resources Employment Type: Full Time Location: Remote US Compensation: $85,000 - $95,000 / year Description The Senior Payroll Specialist is responsible for managing complex payroll processes, ensuring compliance with regulations, and serving as a subject matter expert within the Finance team. This role supports domestic and international payroll operations and collaborates with HR and Finance globally to maintain accurate and timely compensation. Key Responsibilities • Process payroll for multiple states and countries under strict deadlines • Reconcile payroll register, source document, and funding total each pay period • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations • Review and verify payroll data entries, deductions, and adjustments • Handle complex payroll scenarios including retroactive pay, garnishments, commissions and benefits • Generate and analyze payroll reports for internal and external stakeholders • Support audits and regulatory filings • Act as a point of contact for escalated payroll inquiries Skills, Knowledge and Expertise Qualifications 5+ years of payroll experience, preferably in multi-state or large-scale environments Strong knowledge of payroll laws, tax regulations, and compliance standards Proficiency in payroll systems (e.g., ADP, Workday, Paychex).
