Candidates must have a bachelor's degree in a related field and at least 6 years of GIS experience, including 2 years in law enforcement or border security. Knowledge of GIS technologies and experience with Esri software is essential.
cFocus Software seeks a Mid-Level GIS Analyst to join our program supporting the Department of Customer and Border Protection (CBP). This position is fully remote. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in GIS, Geography, Cartography, or other related fields 6+ years of experience performing GIS and related development, of which a minimum of two (2) years were spent performing such activities for law enforcement, immigration, and/or border security applications Experience shall include generating complex multi-layered printed, digital and web-based maps, creating and modifying template-based GIS web applications, and performing complex geospatial analyses. Shall be knowledgeable in GIS and geospatial technologies, best practices, and concepts, and have experience applying these principles to law enforcement, immigration, and/or border enforcement. Shall have experience working with imagery and performing imagery collection, processing, analysis and exploitation. Some experience in the development of GIS applications is required. Shall have the ability to effectively communicate technical information to non- technical computer users, both orally and in writing. Shall be experienced using Esri Spatial Database Engine, ArcGIS desktop software, and ArcGIS Enterprise. Duties: Produce cartographic and data products involving a high degree of complexity. Perform data collection, conversion, migration, and information extraction activities using advanced processing techniques. Assist with project planning, requirements analysis, database design, database development, application coding and testing, quality assurance and quality control. Perform data management functions for large-scale, disparate spatial data sources to include responding to and tracking complex data requests, maintaining current data dictionaries and populating comprehensive metadata in accordance with official policy. Conduct GIS and geospatial technologies user training sessions for applications and tools. Provide user support. Develops and captures metadata for geospatial data, applications, and products. Produce high-quality hardcopy and digital maps.
