Integration Engineer Senior / Solutions Architect – Automation / Integration EngineerJob OverviewcFocus Software is seeking an Integration Engineer Senior / Solutions Architect (Automation / Integration Engineer) to support the Security Tools and Infrastructure Modernization (STIM) contract with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). The Integration Engineer will provide senior-level expertise in designing, automating, and integrating enterprise IT systems to support modernization, security, and operational efficiency.Responsibilities • Design and implement enterprise systems integration solutions across applications, databases, and infrastructure. • Develop and deploy automation solutions using Ansible, Puppet, Chef, Jenkins, or GitLab CI/CD. • Build and manage APIs (REST, SOAP, GraphQL) to enable system interoperability. • Support cloud and hybrid environments, including AWS, Azure, and GCP integrations. • Develop and maintain containerized applications and orchestration platforms (Docker, Kubernetes). • Ensure integration and automation solutions comply with NIST SP 800-53, FISMA, FedRAMP, and HHS cybersecurity requirements. • Provide technical leadership, architecture recommendations, and mentoring to engineering teams. • Document system architectures, workflows, and integration playbooks. • Evaluate and recommend emerging technologies to improve efficiency and security posture. Required Experience • 8–10+ years of IT engineering, systems integration, and automation experience. • Extensive experience developing automation solutions with Ansible, Puppet, Chef, or similar tools. • Hands-on expertise with APIs, microservices, and service-oriented architectures. • Strong background in cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, or GCP). • Proven ability to lead integration engineering efforts and provide architecture-level guidance. Education & Certifications • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (Master’s preferred). • AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional or Azure Solutions Architect Expert certification required. • DevOps/Automation certifications such as Red Hat Ansible Automation or HashiCorp Terraform Associate highly desirable. • Security+ or CISSP preferred to meet federal cybersecurity requirements. Clearance Requirement • Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Public Trust (Moderate to High-Risk) clearance.
