cFocus Software seeks a GIS Database Administrator & Developer to join our program supporting the Department of Customer and Border Protection (CBP). This position is fully remote. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in GIS, Geography, Cartography, Computer Science, Information Technologies, or other related fields 5+ years of experience in GIS, related development, and systems administration. Experience in GIS concepts and relational database administration is essential. Must be proficient in the coding of software and processing digital databases, and using GIS programming languages, Internet markup languages, and other technologies. Must have the ability to communicate technical information to non-technical computer users, both orally and in writing. Duties: Work closely with the GIS user community to determine specific application requirements and specifications. Perform project planning, requirements analysis, database design, development and administration. Work independently to maintain database dictionaries, ensure database performance and resolve problems. Coordinate with GIS users to ensure implementation and monitoring of GIS databases. Manage the design and development of GIS databases and related master files and ensure system capacity for current and future requirements. Assist with the design and development of GIS applications and multi-layered maps. Design and implement data conversion procedures and perform software and database quality control.
