Duties: • Develop, oversee, and coordinate the exquisite events. • The Event Manager will be the client's primary point of contact on event days. • Led a team of talented, trained staff • Achieving excellent event execution • Work with FOH employee management • Guiding the culinary team to ensure the best cuisine is executed for guests • Oversee the venue's cleanliness and organization to shine. • The Event Manager will collaborate with the culinary and operations teams and external vendors to ensure successful event execution. • Responsibilities include handling paperwork, maintaining effective communication, and being flexible to perform additional duties to meet business needs. Qualifications • Education: Four-year degree or equivalent experience • Certificates/Licenses: RAMP Certification within 90 days of hire • Work Experience: At least two years of related experience and training • Freedom from illegal use of drugs and freedom from use and effects of use of drugs and alcohol in the workplace. Product • Thoroughly collects all pertinent client information and communicates with appropriate departments. • Remains active in communication with the client to ensure the planning timeline is adhered to and all questions are thoroughly answered. • Educates and guides clients in decisions that will benefit their event and CEG. • Ensures all discussed items during event coordination and after the meeting are accurately, thoroughly recorded, and communicated to all necessary departments. • Conducts post-document discussions with the client; changes the specification sheet as necessary. • Directs the set-up and breakdown of assigned events, including, but not limited to, the cleanliness of the overall venue, proper storage and organization of items, and reporting/recording lost/found items. • Oversees set up and execution of food service and courses; provides necessary feedback to appropriate individuals (i.e., Chef, Operations) to maintain standards. • Adheres to all job-relevant manuals, checklists, and standard operating procedures. Customer Service/Business Development • Answers questions and assists with event details such as food and beverage items, linens, and floor plan layouts. • Connect with vendors to communicate restrictions and accommodations promptly. • Work with the director on difficult or emotional customer situations and exhibit sensitivity to cultural differences. • Ensure the client receives clear and open communication about all aspects of their event to guarantee client satisfaction. • Ensures clients and guests feel welcome and are always given responsive, friendly, and courteous service. Employee and Management Interaction • Assists in training and development of event personnel (i.e. servers, maître d', etc.) • Follow up with the Event Coordinator to ensure all information is understood. • Establishes and maintains effective relations with both co-workers and managers. • Maintains effective transition of clients and information from the Event Coordination meeting and afterward to all other relevant departments. • Balances teamwork and individual responsibilities. • Gives and welcomes constructive feedback. • Puts the success of the team above personal interests. • Able and willing to fill in as needed, with or without request.
