Description Financial Analyst- Remote- $80k-100k plus Benefits Position Summary The Financial Analyst provides data-driven insights that support the strategic and operational goals of the Holdco and its subsidiary MEP divisions (HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical, Gas/Fireplace, Septic, etc.). This role is responsible for consolidating financial reporting, analyzing divisional performance, supporting budgeting and forecasting, and ensuring accuracy in job costing, margin analysis, and operational KPIs. The Financial Analyst acts as a bridge between finance and operations, helping both leadership and field managers make informed business decisions. Essential Duties and Responsibilities The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following: Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) Support annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting for the Holdco and all operating divisions. Build and maintain financial models to evaluate revenue, expense, and gross profit by business unit. Conduct variance analysis against budgets, forecasts, and prior year results. Prepare consolidated reporting for Holdco leadership while maintaining divisional breakouts. Job Costing & Margin Analysis Analyze job-level profitability across HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical, and other trade divisions. Track labor efficiency, material costs, subcontractor spend, and overhead allocation. Partner with GMs and operations teams to identify margin leakage and cost-saving opportunities. Provide recommendations to improve estimating, pricing, and project execution. Operational Reporting & KPIs Develop dashboards and reports that track key divisional KPIs (e.g., revenue per tech, average ticket size, callback rates, service vs. install mix). Support month-end close with data reconciliations and variance explanations. Standardize reporting across divisions for comparability and Holdco roll-ups. Cross-Functional Business Support Work directly with General Managers, Ops Managers, and Sales Managers to align financial performance with operational metrics. Support incentive/bonus programs tied to gross profit, EBITDA, or divisional performance. Assist HR with headcount and labor analysis, including overtime trends and turnover costs. Partner with AR/AP to track collections, credit risk, and vendor management impact on cash flow. M&A and Integration Support (Holdco Focus) Assist with due diligence and financial modeling for acquisitions. Prepare pro forma analyses of potential targets and post-acquisition performance tracking. Support integration of newly acquired businesses into standardized reporting structures. Compliance & Audit Ensure divisional compliance with GAAP, internal controls, and company policies. Assist in audit preparation and provide supporting schedules. Support tax, insurance, and regulatory filings with accurate divisional financial data. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Economics required; MBA, CPA, or CFA preferred. 2–5 years of experience in financial analysis, FP&A, or accounting. Experience in construction, contracting, or MEP/HVAC/Plumbing/Electrical industries strongly preferred. Strong Excel and financial modeling skills; experience with ERP systems (e.g., FieldEdge, ServiceTitan, NetSuite, QuickBooks). Familiarity with BI tools (Power BI, Tableau) and data visualization. Strong problem-solving, communication, and presentation skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-entity environment with competing priorities. Physical Demands and Work Environment · Sit for prolonged periods of time. · Repetitive Movements i.e. typing and mouse use. · Prolonged screen viewing. · Lifting up to 25 pounds.
