Overview We are seeking a dedicated Healthcare Quality and Lean Improvement Specialist to drive continuous improvement initiatives across our healthcare organization. The ideal candidate will leverage lean methodologies and quality improvement tools to enhance patient safety, operational efficiency, and overall quality. This role involves coaching clinical and administrative teams, leading process improvement projects, and fostering a culture of excellence organization wide. This position serves as a teacher, advisor, mentor, coach, and facilitator, guiding transformation efforts from discovery to scale. The ideal candidate brings extensive healthcare leadership/consulting experience, a track record of measurable results, and advanced technical expertise in quality improvement, change management, and health systems analytics. Hybrid Responsibilities Essential Functions Coach, train, and mentor staff at all levels on lean principles, Six Sigma tools, and quality improvement techniques. Lead and facilitate high-priority transformation initiatives that span clinical domains with strategic importance to Central Health, focused on optimization of patient care processes and operational workflows. Translate, monitor, measure, and report organizational goals into actionable, data-driven improvement strategies with clear KPIs and impact metrics. Plan, organize, and facilitate Kaizen events, workshops, and training sessions focused on process improvement and patient safety. Act as a lead performance improvement advisor to leadership and functional departments. Co-develop strategic plans to scale successful pilots across Central Health and partners. Champion a Culture of Quality by mentoring Quality Champions and facilitating organization-wide training efforts. Design and execute performance improvement projects using Lean and Six Sigma frameworks. Lead complex process redesign efforts, including organization migrations (e.g., ServiceNow, Epic workflows). Conduct comprehensive gap analysis, root cause analysis, value stream mapping, and solution prototyping to identify inefficiencies and areas for improvement. Implement and sustain advanced performance tracking systems and dashboards to monitor outcomes. Analyze high-complexity datasets to identify system gaps, resource imbalances, and opportunities for impact. Drive performance reporting to meet federal and state requirements and internal KPIs. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of healthcare quality and performance standards, lean methodologies, and industry best practices Serve as liaison to community health organizations and academic institutions on QI strategy and implementation Qualifications Minimum Education: Bachelor's Degree (higher degree accepted) in Public Health, Health Administration, Business, or related field. Minimum Experience: 5 years Experience in performance improvement and healthcare transformation, including team leadership 5 years Experience leading cross-functional teams in process redesign and system change in healthcare. 5 years Experience coaching and teaching Lean methodology. Required Complex change management and process improvement projects through completion, with sole responsibility for lean / six sigma knowledge and scope of work.
