Full Description

Find your purpose as an Accountant Lead within Corporate Accounting at CentraCare. This position requires an advance level working knowledge and experience with US GAAP, with an ability to research accounting guidance as needed and apply complex accounting concepts. Individual must be self-directed and self-motivated with excellent time management skills and exceptional attention to detail. Responsible for maintaining accurate financial records and producing timely reports for CentraCare Health entities in cooperation with other accounting department staff and others throughout CentraCare Health. This position leads the monthly and annual accounting duties of their respective team, providing educational support to the team and detail review support for their leader. Schedule: • Full-time 80 hours every 2 weeks • Monday-Friday 8:00a-5:00p • Hybrid of in-office (St. Cloud, MN) and at-home work Pay and Benefits: • Starting pay begins at $68,939.12 per year and increases with experience • Salary range: $68,939.12-$103,441.54per year • Salary range is based on a 1.0 FTE, reduced FTE will result in a prorated offer rate • We offer a generous benefits package that includes medical, dental, flexible spending accounts, PTO, 401(k) retirement plan & match, LTD and STD, tuition reimbursement, discounts at local and national businesses and so much more! Qualifications: • Bachelor's Degree in accounting, finance or related field is required. • Minimum 6-10 years accounting experience is required. • Advanced computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint is required. • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) License (can be active or inactive) or CMA preferred. • Accounting consolidation experience. • Public accounting experience is preferred. • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. • Must be flexible and able to work under pressure to meet deadlines. • Experience with Oracle software or similar general ledger software preferred. • Healthcare industry knowledge preferred. Core Functions: • Month end close responsibilities including preparation and review of journal entries to be posted and general ledger account reconciliation preparation and review. Review of revenue and expense accounts to determine completeness and accuracy. • Identification and proper accounting treatment of intercompany transactions including preparation and posting of inter-company journal entries and reconciliation of due to/from accounts between entities. Ensure communication and documentation between entities is comprehensive and timely. • In coordination with the Treasury Analyst, leads team in completing month-end and year-end reconciliations related to pensions, debt, investments and derivatives including preparing necessary information for and working with the external audit firm. • Oversees accurate and timely reconciliation of cash receipts for the System. • Prepare timely, accurate and comprehensive financial statement reporting on a monthly and periodic basis. Research and evaluate trends and variances within areas of responsibility and prepare analysis for management as needed. • Actively works to develop financial acumen within operational leaders to allow better decision making. • Create and maintain process and procedure documentation and documentation and monitoring of internal controls with a continual focus on process improvement. Leverage technology to identify process improvement opportunities and implement on an on-going basis. • Prepares for and participates in annual audits, leading audit areas of responsibilities. • Participate in system implementations and complex special projects as assigned. • Willingness to learn and take on new tasks. Adaptive learner; able to quickly apply and develop new concepts in a timely manner. • Gain expertise in areas of responsibility as well as solid understanding of business. Communicate with business leaders and build relationships. • Prepare quarterly and annual financial statements for external use. • Ensure that reports, external filings, and documentation comply with the organization’s policies, professional standards and US GAAP reporting guidelines. • Produce and distribute financial data and analysis for internal and external parties. • Demonstrated problem solving ability. Proposing solutions to management for issues identified.
