Lead and manage a quality engineering team to design, implement, and automate testing processes ensuring product quality and reliability within an Agile development environment.
Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering or related field with 10+ years quality engineering experience, 4+ years leading teams, strong software testing and automation skills, and knowledge of CI/CD and Agile methodologies.
The Quality Engineer Lead is part of the Engineering department, and reports to the Quality Director. As our Quality Engineer Lead, you will manage a team of Quality Engineers, responsible for designing and implementing tests, debugging and troubleshooting issues, and ensuring internal/external customer requirements are being met. These functions are performed within a fast-paced Agile development cycle. This position requires strong leadership skills to aid the team in moving the needle forward with quality standards, test management, and automation. What You'll Do: Leads, mentors, and coaches team members, promoting a mindset of quality, continuous improvement, professional development, and organizational engagement Develops, implements, and manages processes to ensure that products meet required specifications for quality, function, and reliability prior to delivery Work closely with development teams to design testing strategies and integrate testing into the development process Promotes the use of CIS quality tools for automation, performance & load, and test management. Directs the team to utilize these resources and strive for 90% automation Prepares metrics to report progress of testing efforts Plan, create, execute, and automate test cases, working with business partners, developers, and other stakeholders Oversees all types of testing as needed, including functional, regression, system integration, and performance & load Isolate, reproduce, manage, and resolve defects. Strives for zero production issues Other tasks and responsibilities as assigned What You'll Need: Bachelor's degree in Computer Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field* 10+ years of relevant quality engineering experience, to include but not limited to information technology, information security, or cybersecurity 4+ years of operational experience leading a quality assurance team Excellent working knowledge of test methodology Experience in evaluating, recommending, and testing software solutions Strong experience with CI/CD automation, including testing, builds, deploys, and monitoring Experience designing and developing reusable architecture for the test automation Experience with SQL databases and writing SQL queries Ability to communicate effectively with a remote team Solid foundation in SDLC and working experience in the Agile process framework (e.g., Scrum) and Atlassian stack (JIRA, Confluence) Must be team-oriented and able to contribute ideas to improve efficiency and productivity, foster a learning culture, where teamwork and collaboration are encouraged, excellence is rewarded, and diversity is respected and valued Demonstrable drive towards continual professional growth and improvement Must be authorized to work in the United States It's a Plus if You Have: Hands-on expertise with Test Management Tool Xray Hands-on expertise the Performance and Load Tool Neoload Hands-on expertise with automation tools (Functionize) Experience testing web-based and command-line applications Experience with continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) tools such as AWS CodePipeline Experience in AWS cloud environments including web application infrastructures and CI/CD services Certification in Quality Standards, such as ISTQB Experience working alongside developers to troubleshoot issues for web applications and databases Experience leading a remote team *Additional years of relevant experience or a combination of an Associate’s degree or equivalent and relevant experience may be substituted for the Bachelor’s degree.
