The Center for Industrial Progress looking for an outstanding Executive Assistant to work on-site at our beautiful Laguna Beach office (hybrid or remote options available). The ideal candidate will be highly detail-oriented and highly resourceful, including technologically competent. About the company: The Center for Industrial Progress (CIP) is a for-profit energy think tank seeking to bring about a new industrial revolution. CIP was founded in 2011 by philosopher and energy expert Alex Epstein to provide a positive, principled alternative to the green movement. Today, CIP is a world-leading source of pro-freedom energy policies and messaging for elected officials, influencers, and the general public. About the role: Our baseline need is for a stellar Executive Assistant to handle core EA responsibilities for the President, the Chief of Staff, and the company as a whole. However, because we’re a small, non-hierarchical team where the best ideas win, there is significant opportunity to grow in this role. Depending on your strengths and interests, you could take on additional responsibilities in areas like sales, social media, design, and beyond. Schedule: 40-50 hours per week. Mon-Fri 8am-5:30pm, plus occasional evening or weekend hours. Day-to-day responsibilities include: Processing client’s email and DMs and responding to messages on client’s behalf. Managing client’s calendar, booking appointments, and navigating scheduling challenges. Managing and upkeeping various databases and spreadsheets (Airtable, Google Sheets, Hubspot). Creating powerpoint presentations according to detailed instructions. Researching and booking flights, accommodations, ground transportation, reservations, etc., often with important context and strict preferences from client. Basic technical support for the client and company: Ex. running virus removal software, setting up email forwarding, buying/cancelling subscriptions, etc. Simple video editing and posting to various channels. Proofreading copy. Researching personal projects/products for the client and presenting in an organized way: Ex. Researching new home appliances, furniture, recreational activities while traveling, etc. You will report to the Chief of Staff. Very high attention to detail: Ex. Incapable of missing errors like typos, typography, spacing, alignment, timezones, etc. Ability to follow precise instructions exactly. Strong organizational skills (you should have a highly reliable task management system). Solid computer skills: Ability to efficiently learn and use new internet programs and apps. Resourcefulness, including the drive and interest to use the vast array of technological tools available today to find solutions to any problem. Direct communication style. Eagerness to receive and learn from clear, direct feedback. An orientation toward AI that recognizes its immense potential as a productivity multiplier as well as its potential for errors (and thus the need for human checkers). Salary range: 100-150K range depending on abilities and experience. Health and dental insurance. Flexible paid time off. A beautiful oceanside working environment.
