Responsibilities

The Network Contracting Associate General Counsel serves as the primary legal advisor to market network teams, providing strategic guidance and legal support on provider contracting matters. This includes drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts while ensuring compliance with federal and state regulatory requirements.

Requirements

A Juris Doctor (JD) is required along with 5+ years of corporate or health law experience and 3+ years of managed care/provider contracting experience preferred. Knowledge of Medicare and Medicaid insurance, fraud and abuse laws, and state insurance regulations is also preferred.

Position Purpose: Serves as the primary legal advisor to market network teams, providing strategic guidance and legal support on provider contracting matters, including advising negotiators on contract language, legal strategy, and state and federal requirements relating to provider networks. Draft, review and/or negotiate contracts and other documents. Provide legal guidance to assist in defining and developing solutions to legal issues arising in the context of provider contacting. Supports local and national-level provider contracting and network development units by assessing the business implications of complex contract language to ensure compliance with federal and state regulatory requirements and contracting standards. Serves as a resource for research and interpretation of specific healthcare policies and regulations. Reviews, drafts and negotiates contracts, legal memoranda and related documents. Contributes in the development of legal strategies in connection with disputes. Stay abreast of industry trends and regulatory changes affecting network development, provider reimbursement, and managed care arrangements. Develops and conducts training and awareness activities. Performs other duties as assigned. Complies with all policies and standards. Actual pay will be adjusted based on an individual's skills, experience, education, and other job-related factors permitted by law, including full-time or part-time status.
