Position Purpose: Provides leadership and operational oversight for the Human Resources (HR) Compliance Program. Accountable for the design, execution, governance, and continuous improvement of HR compliance strategies to ensure adherence to applicable federal, state, and local employment laws and regulatory requirements. Partners closely with HR, Legal, Compliance, and business leaders to proactively identify, mitigate, and manage employment related risk while ensuring consistent, compliant execution of HR programs across the organization. Leads the governance of the HR Compliance Program, overseeing policy lifecycle management, compliance monitoring frameworks, risk prioritization, and control effectiveness. Develops, implements, and maintains HR compliance policies, procedures, and controls aligned with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, in partnership with Legal and Compliance. Establishes and oversees HR compliance monitoring activities, audits, and assessments to identify trends, gaps, and emerging risks. Oversees internal and external audit responses related to HR compliance, including documentation preparation, cross functional coordination, and remediation tracking. Ensures timely and accurate completion of required regulatory reporting, employee notices, and employment related compliance obligations. Provides direct oversight of the Centene Immigration Program, including program governance, vendor management, escalation of complex case issues, and compliance with immigration related regulatory requirements. Leads and influences HR, Legal, and business leaders to evaluate employment practices and ensure consistent and compliant execution across the organization. Serves as a subject matter expert on HR compliance risk areas and regulatory requirements, translating legal and regulatory guidance into operational controls and business practices. Provides risk based guidance and recommendations related to HR compliance matters, escalating issues and partnering with Legal for interpretation of laws and regulations, as appropriate. Leads areas of focus that may include employment laws, wage and hour laws, federal and state reporting, policy and procedure governance, HR Compliance administration, HR learning programs, oversight and monitoring activities, audit responses, HR data management, immigration, and employee notices Sets strategy and standards for HR compliance communications and training initiatives for the People Team, people leaders, and employees, ensuring consistent enterprise adoption. Analyzes compliance trends and metrics and partners with People Team leadership to drive proactive, risk mitigating process and program improvements. Manages and provides governance oversight of external vendors supporting HR compliance programs, ensuring performance, compliance, and alignment with enterprise standards. Executes additional responsibilities aligned to HR Compliance program and organizational needs. Performs other duties as assigned. Complies with all policies and standards. Education/Experience: Bachelor's Degree in a related field or equivalent experience. required 5+ years Human Resources experience with demonstrated ownership of HR compliance programs or regulatory oversight. required 2+ years Overseeing a company-wide immigration program, including vendor management and day to day case oversight. required Extensive working knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations. required Demonstrated experience leading cross functional initiatives and influencing senior stakeholders. required Experience with regulatory reporting, policy governance, compliance communications, and audit management. preferred Experience in a healthcare or highly regulated industry. preferred Pay Range: $87,700.00 - $157,800.00 per year Centene offers a comprehensive benefits package including: competitive pay, health insurance, 401K and stock purchase plans, tuition reimbursement, paid time off plus holidays, and a flexible approach to work with remote, hybrid, field or office work schedules. Actual pay will be adjusted based on an individual's skills, experience, education, and other job-related factors permitted by law, including full-time or part-time status. Total compensation may also include additional forms of incentives. Benefits may be subject to program eligibility.
