Job Description: • Serve as the senior technical leader for eCommerce and portal application engineering initiatives • Drive engineering strategy and technical execution for customer-facing and partner-facing digital platforms • Translate architectural direction into implementable engineering solutions and development standards • Lead complex technical design decisions across applications, services, APIs, and integrations • Lead the design and development of modern eCommerce and portal applications • Support modernization of legacy systems into cloud-enabled, API-driven, and service-oriented architectures • Build and guide implementation of user account management, product catalog and search, shopping cart and checkout, order placement and history, self-service features, content and document access, and notifications • Establish and enforce software engineering best practices, coding standards, and secure development principles • Lead code reviews, design reviews, and technical walkthroughs • Champion automated testing, performance testing, observability, CI/CD, DevSecOps, and infrastructure-as-code practices • Lead integrations with ERP, CRM, identity and access management, product information management, content management, payment, order management, analytics, and reporting platforms • Drive API design standards and event-based integration patterns • Ensure performance, scalability, security, availability, reliability, recoverability, and operational supportability • Support production readiness, incident response, root cause analysis, monitoring, logging, alerting, and continuous improvement • Mentor senior and mid-level engineers and contribute to technical hiring, onboarding, and talent development • Partner with product owners, UX, architecture, QA, DevOps, cybersecurity, infrastructure, and business teams • Facilitate alignment across multiple scrum teams and communicate technical tradeoffs, risks, and recommendations Requirements: • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or related field • Typically 10+ years of experience in software engineering, with significant experience in enterprise application development • 3+ years in a staff, principal, lead, or equivalent senior technical role • Strong hands-on experience building and supporting large-scale eCommerce, portal, or other customer-facing web applications • Deep knowledge of microservices, RESTful APIs, event-driven architecture, distributed systems, and domain-driven design • Strong proficiency in one or more of Java, C#, JavaScript / TypeScript, or Python • Experience with front-end frameworks and modern web application architecture • Experience with Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud • Experience with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, source control, and DevSecOps practices • Strong understanding of security, authentication, authorization, and data protection • Excellent problem-solving, collaboration, and communication skills Benefits: • Medical, dental, and vision care • Backup dependent care • Adoption assistance • Infertility coverage • Family building support • Behavioral health solutions • Paid parental leave • Paid caregiver leave • Training programs • Professional development resources • Mentorship programs • Employee resource groups • Volunteer activities
