Lead and develop a sales/application development team to execute growth strategies, manage pipeline, and drive sales revenue in high value segments.
10+ years commercial sales leadership experience, preferably in chemical/plastics, with ability to develop strategies, lead teams, and travel frequently.
Overview The Regional Application Development Leader leads a team of sales professionals to focus on the following commercial areas: • Segment Strategy Development. Drive growth programs in High Value Segments. • Pipeline development- Opportunity creates and closes • Value Chain Analysis, Value Proposition Development, Value capture • Grow OEM and Developmental accounts in the Americas. • Communicate to the organization via call reports, opportunities, leads, and use Sales Force. The Application Development Leader is responsible for delivering the opportunity pipeline performance as measured by sales revenue & volume. This role is remote, and candidate should be residing within the continental United States. Responsibilities • Lead a team of Application Development Engineers to perform at their individual and collective best to deliver the growth strategy by delivering pipeline and sales expectations. • Develop a growth strategy for the High Impact Program segments, while growth, mentoring, supporting and developing a team of application developers is essential for this position. • Drive accountability with the team using a robust commercial cadence with the utilization of performance metrics. • Establish Individual Development Plans with each Application Development Engineers to ensure personal growth while helping to establish Celanese as a preferred/desired place to work. • Effectively manage the team's pipeline ensuring proper stages and closed/won business captured as planned. • Understand the performance and value proposition of CE products/solutions and actively assist the spec apps team in capturing optimal value. • Lead development, communication and implementation of segment/application growth plans. • Support introduction and sale of new products to customers via High Impact Growth Plans and translation opportunities. • Assist in Customer Options Mapping sessions and lead follow-up required actions. • Diversify customer base with new customers and applications. Qualifications • BS in Engineering, Science or Business degree - advanced degree preferred. • 10+ years of Commercial Experience in a Sales Leadership or Application Development role. • Experience in Account Management or Application Development at a chemical or plastics company highly preferred. • Managing a sales or application development team is a plus. • Track record of building and leading teams with proven consecutive year over year performance. • Experience driving growth, while optimizing team performance, including top grading. • Ability to understand, develop, communicate and implement application segment strategies. • Ability to work with customers and internal business and technical partners to develop solutions. • Ability to apply technical and/or business knowledge to solve new problem. • Ability to recruit, train and onboard Application Development talent. • Ability to travel 50% of the time
