Support economic development team through program coordination, board and volunteer management, event planning, communications, and stakeholder engagement.
Bachelor's degree with 5-7 years experience in board and volunteer management, meeting and event planning, communications, and budget oversight.
Vision: Drive Economic Growth for the Region. Major Duties: Ambitious, passionate, community-minded leader to serve on the economic development team. The program manager provides support to the economic development team which includes workforce, economic, and international programs and activities. Experience with board governance, and volunteer management. Creative and tenacious in getting goals achieved. Duties and Responsibilities: • Creates agenda packets, attends meetings, records minutes and tracks assignments for ImpactCR young professionals’ program. • Oversee the Ignite CR summer intern program. Ensuring programs that bring together interns across the region provide great bonding. • Supports international business programming of affiliate groups and keeps Economic Alliance aligned with relevant community/regional international business initiatives. • Supports and assists with logistics and structure of economic development programs (i.e. HQ visits, trade shows, and intercity exchange). • Supports key affiliate organizations, assists with workforce initiatives, and helps coordinate meaningful economic development events in our region. • Maintains governance rosters with up-to-date information in all necessary areas. • Sends communications to workforce governance entities (i.e. councils and boards). • Support year-end governance process. • Prioritizes and manages multiple projects simultaneously. • Creates and prepare letters, agendas, reports and documents. • Writes content for stakeholder newsletters. • Drafts updates for Communications team to leverage social media, email and website management. • Supports development of new programs as directed. • Connects with community partners and supports collaborative projects. • Uses sound judgement when creating programs for budgetary purposes. • Actively records touch points with members. • Other duties as assigned. Education & Experience Required: • Bachelor’s Degree required. • 5-7 years’ experience working with boards, volunteers, on programs and with investors. • Previous experience in meeting and event planning, communications and budgets are required. Required Skills and Abilities: • Maintains confidentiality with unquestionable integrity. • Ability to work independently and in team settings. • Strong organizational and time management skills. • Strong computer and word processing skills, in particular Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, Zoom and Teams. • Ability to exercise sound judgement with attention to detail. • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including ability to efficiently and effectively record meeting minutes. • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing with staff, the business community and business prospects. • Demonstrates autonomy, organization, assertiveness, flexibility and cooperation in performing job responsibilities. • Must be of good moral character and possess patience, tact, and self-awareness • Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail. • Ability to exercise good judgment in setting priorities and organization of workload. • Ability to meet or exceed budgets and manage volunteers. • Ability to bring everyone together toward the organization’s vision. • Tracks sponsorships and maintains the ImpactCR’s membership database. • Boardroom experience with presentation skills, time management, and information dissemination.
