Overview JOB TITLE: Digital Content Specialist CAYUSE COMPANY: Cayuse Native Solutions, LLC LOCATION Remote SALARY: $60,000-$70,000 EMPLOYEE TYPE: Full-Time Salary Exempt TRAVEL Yes, less than 25% RELOCATION No The Work The Digital Content Specialist is responsible for planning, producing, and managing high quality communications for a Cayuse client whose mission is to support and enhance tribal convenience stores and their employees. This role will primarily serve one of our tribal organization clients but may also occasionally work on other client projects as time allows. The Digital Content Specialist implements a comprehensive workload, including newsletters, social media, content development, website updates, event promotion, graphic design, sponsor communications, and performance reporting. Responsibilities Quarterly Newsletters Develop, write, edit, and design four digital newsletters annually. Establish quarterly newsletter themes and content. Maintain newsletter templates, HTML/text versions, and archives. Social Media Management Manage 2–3 social media platforms with a monthly content calendar. Produce approximately 20 posts per month across all channels. Maintain an organized digital asset library with consistent naming conventions. Implement growth focused campaigns targeting new regions, members, and sponsors. Provide quarterly analytics and insights to guide strategy. Post responsively based on industry trends and client events. Content Creation & Storytelling Conduct interviews to capture the client’s member stories, Tribal economic impact, retail innovations, sustainability initiatives, and vendor partnerships. Produce short form and long form content for newsletters, social media, email sequences, website updates, case studies, and event promotions. Ensure all content reflects culturally aligned storytelling and honors the diversity of Tribal Nations. Website Updates Write and publish blog posts, stories, event pages, and sponsor spotlights. Collaborate with the website vendor to ensure smooth content workflow integration. Apply SEO optimization to web posts including keywords, metadata, and readability improvements. Add and maintain photos, videos, graphics, and other media across the website. Ensure all content meets ADA accessibility considerations and cultural accuracy standards. Quarterly review of website content for accessibility compliance. Event Promotion and Branding Attend and take lead role in promoting, branding, and social media engagement at up to three client member meetings, three educational webinars, and 6 virtual member roundtables. Graphic design for three annual themed events Sponsor Communications & Engagement Conduct quarterly sponsor touchpoints and benefit utilization reminders. Develop a structure for measuring sponsor satisfaction and benefit usage. Produce sponsor highlights across newsletters, social media, events, and web content. Performance Reporting & KPIs Prepare quarterly dashboard reports with metrics on membership growth, event conversions, sponsor engagement, social media reach, click through rates, and content consumption. Provide recommendations for continuous improvement based on data insights. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications Here’s What You Need Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, graphic design, public relations, or equivalent experience. Minimum 3 years of experience in digital marketing, communications, and/or content creation. Demonstrated experience working with Tribal Nations, tribal organizations, or Indigenous community organizations. Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills rooted in cultural respect and accuracy. Experience with social media management tools, email platforms, and digital analytics. Must be able to pass a background check. May require additional background checks as required by projects and/or clients at any time during employment. Minimum Skills: Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate in a clear, professional, and articulate manner. Proficiency with design tools including Canva. Strong understanding of culturally aligned, strengths-based storytelling and language guidelines. Exceptional verbal and written communication skills. Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills with high-level attention to detail. Proven ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast past environment with changing priorities; adaptable to change and a quick learner. Must be self-motivated and able to work well independently as well as on a multi-functional team. Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately Proficient in MS Office, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel. Preferred Qualifications Experience in association communications, nonprofit marketing, or membership-driven organizations. Experience coordinating with web development vendors or managing basic SEO tasks. Experience covering live events, photography, or video creation/editing. Familiarity with Indigenous terminology guides, ADA accessibility principles, and consent-driven storytelling practices.
