We’re committed to providing sustainable and reliable solutions to our customers. Join our team to help build a better, more sustainable world for future generations! Job Summary: If you’re energized by turning complex ideas into bankable projects and building trusted, long-term customer relationships, this role is for you. What You’ll Do: Originate and qualify new project opportunities across power generation, distributed energy and microgrid solutions. Lead early-stage development activities, including feasibility assessments, risk/return analysis, stakeholder alignment, and commercial modeling. Build compelling business cases and investment proposals that align with Caterpillar’s strategic growth objectives. Serve as the primary point of contact for target accounts; ensure alignment between customer outcomes and Caterpillar’s products, services, and technologies. Facilitate cross-functional collaboration with engineering, finance, legal, product, dealers, and dealers to advance projects and improve customer experience. Structure tailored solutions (commercial terms, pricing, value propositions) and lead negotiations to secure customer commitment. Prepare and deliver proposals, presentations, and contracts that clearly articulate technical and business value. Monitor industry trends, regulatory developments, and competitive dynamics; translate market intelligence into strategy and positioning. Represent Caterpillar at customer meetings, industry events, and conferences to promote thought leadership and market presence. Oversee day-to-day account activities; drive upsell and cross-sell opportunities; track performance, customer satisfaction, and market penetration. What You Have: Customer Focus: Extensive experience and knowledge of the values and practices that align customer needs and satisfaction as primary considerations in all business decisions and ability to leverage that information in creating customized customer solutions. Ability to uncover needs, define outcomes, and communicate value. Value Selling: Extensive experience and knowledge of the principles and practices for selling products, technology and services; ability to provide overall product/service 'value' and to differentiate support offerings that address clearly understood customer needs. Industry Knowledge: Working knowledge of the organization's industry group, trends, directions, major issues, regulatory considerations, and trendsetters; ability to apply industry knowledge appropriately to diverse situations. Understanding of project structuring, pricing, and customer value drivers. Proficiency building feasibility studies, commercial models, and investment proposals. Account Management: Extensive experience and knowledge of account management; ability to manage day-to-day activities, providing services and support to existing clients. Demonstrated success leading complex projects from concept to commercial close. Effective Communications: Extensive experience and understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors. Ability to negotiate, present, and align diverse internal and external stakeholders. Negotiating: Extensive experience and knowledge of successful negotiation concepts and techniques; ability to negotiate successfully across the organization and with external vendors and clients in a constructive and collaborative manner. Top Candidates Will Also Have: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Engineering, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred. Familiarity with commercial constructs such as PPAs, EPC contracts, service agreements, and project financing.
