Carver County is looking for a dynamic attorney to fill a vacancy in our Civil division. The specific classification and pay range will be dependent upon the candidate's qualifications. Upon completion of necessary training, the Assistant County Attorney and Senior Assistant County Attorney positions are eligible for partial remote work. Assistant County Attorney - click here to review job description and pay range Senior Assistant County Attorney - click here to review job description and pay range Assistant County Attorney: • Juris Doctoral degree in law from an accredited law school • A valid Minnesota Driver's License or evidence of mobility • A valid license to practice law in the State of MN or licensed by 12/31/2025 • Must be able to successfully pass Criminal Justice Information System (CJIS) background check, including CJIS fingerprinting. Senior Assistant County Attorney: • Juris Doctoral degree in law from an accredited law school • Five (5) years of experience as an Assistant County Attorney or equivalent experience as a practicing attorney • A valid Minnesota Driver's License or evidence of mobility • A valid license to practice law in the State of MN • Must be able to successfully pass Criminal Justice Information System (CJIS) background check, including CJIS fingerprinting. All applications will be screened for minimum qualifications, scored and ranked. The highest ranked candidates meeting minimum qualifications will be recommended for the scored oral examinations (interviews). Final selection for the position will include successful completion of oral interview(s), reference checks, and background investigation, including CJIS fingerprinting.
