COS is how Carlisle creates greater value for our customers and stakeholders The Director of the Carlisle Operating System – Business Process is the primary COS business partner for leading the review & implementation of the Carlisle Operating System Leadership Standard Work detailed action plans. This position will partner with corporate, administrative, functional areas and operations leadership to ensure that an effective enterprise-wide process for execution of critical action items are implemented and sustained. The COS leadership will deliver practical, hands-on training and mentoring to associates on Lean methodology and tools to eliminate waste in our businesses. The Director will lead, measure, and report progress on an ongoing basis and assure standardization of COS and Continuous Improvement methodologies throughout the enterprise and focused on non-operations functional areas business processes. Key Functions And Responsibilities • Ensures the continued development of COS and ongoing monthly execution, evaluation/effectiveness of countermeasures at the Business Unit level and functional area level. • Participates and manages the Corporation’s Policy Deployment Process and is responsible for coordinating the Business Unit’s Deployment Process to ensure alignment with the overall objectives of the Corporation and attainment of annual operating plan. • Ensures that the COS Office is structured and has established standard work and monthly cadence to review all L1 & L2 3-Deep actions including detailed TDPs. • Partner with the functional area leaders to plan, schedule, review and provide feedback and insight to the effectiveness of detailed action items and monthly TDP reviews. • Provides assessment on overall stability, performance, and effectiveness of our established business processes standard work. • Encourage/support usage of COS methodology for daily execution, problem solving, and improvement to attain work team, value stream, business process, and performance objectives. • Partner with others to guide enterprise-wide process improvements and the COS continuous improvement maturity progression. Drive and participate in standard methodology and knowledge sharing activities and support data driven decision making. • Assess organizational gaps and assist in determining appropriate intervention activities. • Contribute improvements to training materials, guidebooks, and other deployment/implementation documentation and processes. • Set organizational goals and ensure their alignment across all levels and functions. Strengthens culture by reinforcing problem-solving, clear accountability, and creates an environment of setting and accomplishing high expectations. • Mentors future leaders within organization, while supporting talent movement between Divisions and Business Units. As well as ensures continuous improvement method is operationalized across organization. • Create and maintain gap analysis of existing Operational processes, policies, products and tools; lead cross-functional efforts to synthesize and drive remediation plans for each, and constantly lead remediation efforts • Lead and perform internal audits of business processes on an as needed basis, to evaluate adherence to COS standards, identify process inefficiencies, and bridge gaps between documented procedures and actual practices. Collaborate with functional leaders to translate audit findings into actionable improvement plans and monitor progress through closure. Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Engineering, or other related field. • Minimum 5 years of experience leading continuous improvement projects and/or internal audit experience. • Have strong financial judgement and possess a good understanding of financial measurements typically used to measure the success of countermeasures and Lean initiatives. • Possess LeanSigma® experience. • Demonstrated experience in leading a business transformation in a multi-site business of suitable scale with a proven record of achieving results. • Ability to guide and teach others in the Continuous Improvement toolset including: Value Stream Mapping, Just-In-Time, Demand Flow, Single Piece Flow, 5S, Visual Management, Total Productive Maintenance, Kaizen, Statistical Process Control (SPC), Six Sigma basics, and Statistical Problem Solving. • Ability to communicate and work across the business units within Carlisle • Travel up to 20%-40% of the time.
