About You You're a hands-on technical leader who can go from architecture to code. You ramp quickly, communicate clearly, and make pragmatic tradeoffs that improve delivery speed, scalability, and reliability. You take ownership, unblock teams, and raise the bar without creating drag. About the role This role accelerates backend architecture and delivery across our products. You will drive core backend changes (primarily .NET/C# and/or Java) becoming a leader in pace, quality, rigor, continuous learning and automation on the team. You'll partner with product and engineering leadership to keep delivery moving while hardening performance and stability. What you'll do Lead backend architecture and implementation across products, with emphasis on scalability, performance, and reliability. Ramp fast on workflows and translate domain understanding into clear technical plans and execution. Own backend changes: API design, service refactors, data model evolution, and performance tuning. Provide technical leadership through code reviews, design guidance, and production support leadership when needed. Partner with product and engineering leadership to sequence work, reduce risk, and drive decisions. Harden the system with better observability, incident readiness, and reliability guardrails. Improve engineering velocity through reusable patterns, documentation, and working agreements. Qualifications 8+ years building production backend systems, with recent hands-on coding. Strong experience as a Lead/Staff Engineer or Tech Lead in .NET (C#) and/or Java ecosystems. Demonstrated success improving performance and reliability (latency, throughput, availability, cost). Experience building service oriented systems (APIs, integrations, authentication and authorization). Operational discipline: logging/metrics/tracing, alerting, incident response, and root cause analysis. Clear communicator who can drive alignment across engineering and product stakeholders. Nice to have FinTech, payments, billing, invoicing, or other high-volume transactional domain experience. Event-driven architecture experience (queues/streams; async workflows). Experience modernizing legacy systems with incremental migration and deprecation plans. Logistics, cargo, or supply chain experience. Spanish language proficiency.
