Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Medical Assistant / Front Desk Receptionist to join our healthcare team. This role offers an excellent opportunity to work in a dynamic clinical environment, supporting patient care and administrative functions across outpatient and inpatient settings. The ideal candidate will possess strong medical knowledge, excellent patient service skills, and experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems, eClinical Works. Prior experience in Cardiology, hospital medicine, urgent care is highly valued. This position is integral to providing high-quality patient care while ensuring smooth clinic operations. Duties • Greet patients warmly and manage check-in/check-out procedures efficiently • Collect patient information, update medical records, and verify insurance details • Measure vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration • Assist with patient intake processes and document medical histories accurately • Support clinical staff with tasks including specimen collection, medication administration, and basic life support procedures • Prepare examination rooms and assist with minor procedures or X-ray procedures as needed • Manage appointment scheduling and coordinate follow-up visits using EHR system (eClinical Works) • Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality • Support documentation of ICD coding, anatomy knowledge, physiology details, and other medical documentation requirements • Assist in inpatient or outpatient care settings as required, including geriatrics, medical-surgical units, or emergency medicine environments such as Level I or Level II trauma centers Skills • Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, ICD coding, and medication administration • Experience working in Cardiology clinics, hospital medicine units, urgent care centers, or primary care centers preferred • Proficiency with EHR systems and medical administrative support functions • Excellent patient service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse populations • Ability to perform vital signs measurement accurately and support patient care activities • Basic life support (BLS) certification is desirable; willingness to obtain if not already certified • Knowledge of outpatient clinic operations across internal medicine or geriatrics specialties is advantageous • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in documentation and administrative tasks This position offers a rewarding environment for healthcare professionals committed to delivering exceptional patient care while supporting efficient clinic operations.
