Director of Investment & Fundraising Lead Our Growth from Seed to Series B and Beyond Position Overview CardioAI is seeking an experienced Director of Investment & Fundraising to lead our capital formation strategy as we scale from a $5M seed round to Series B and beyond. This is a high-impact role for a strategic finance professional who thrives in fast-paced startup environments and has deep expertise in healthcare/medtech fundraising. As Director, you will be responsible for securing $50M+ in capital over the next 24 months, building relationships with top-tier VCs and strategic investors, and positioning CardioAI as the leading AI platform in cardiovascular care. You will work directly with the CEO and founding team, playing a critical role in our path to FDA clearance, commercial launch, and market dominance. Capital Formation & Fundraising Strategy • Lead all fundraising efforts from seed through Series B, targeting $50M+ in capital over 24 months • Develop and execute comprehensive fundraising strategy aligned with company milestones and growth trajectory • Close current $5M seed round, including securing $1M-$2M lead investor and syndicate formation • Prepare for and execute Series A ($20M target, Q2 2027) and Series B ($30M+ target, 2028) • Evaluate and pursue non-dilutive funding opportunities (grants, strategic partnerships, debt financing) 2. Investor Relations & Network Development • Build and maintain relationships with 100+ qualified investors including healthcare VCs, corporate VCs, angels, and family offices • Create investor pipeline and CRM system to track engagement, meetings, and follow-ups • Organize and lead investor roadshows, pitch events, and demo days (Digital Health Summit, Health 2.0, JP Morgan Healthcare Conference) • Manage ongoing investor communications, updates, and reporting for current and prospective investors • Cultivate strategic relationships with corporate development teams at major healthcare companies for potential strategic investment or partnerships 3. Investment Materials & Storytelling • Create and continuously update world-class pitch decks, investment memos, and executive summaries • Develop compelling investment narratives that articulate CardioAI's market opportunity, competitive advantages, and financial projections • Build comprehensive data rooms with clinical data, financial models, market analysis, IP documentation, and regulatory pathway • Prepare board materials, investor updates, and quarterly reports showcasing key metrics and milestones • Create targeted materials for different investor profiles (healthcare specialists, generalist VCs, corporate investors, angels) 4. Financial Modeling & Valuation • Build and maintain detailed 5-year financial models including revenue projections, unit economics, and cash flow analysis • Conduct market sizing, competitive analysis, and benchmarking against comparable healthcare AI companies • Support valuation discussions and term sheet negotiations with investors • Develop sensitivity analyses and scenario planning for various growth trajectories and capital deployment strategies • Track and report key financial metrics (burn rate, runway, CAC, LTV, gross margins) to leadership and board 5. Due Diligence & Deal Execution • Coordinate and manage investor due diligence processes, working with legal, clinical, and technical teams • Prepare responses to investor questions, organize management presentations, and facilitate site visits • Negotiate term sheets and work with legal counsel on investment documentation (SAFEs, priced rounds, convertible notes) • Manage closing processes including cap table management, securities filings, and investor onboarding • Ensure compliance with securities regulations and coordinate with legal counsel on regulatory requirements 6. Strategic Partnerships & Business Development • Identify and pursue strategic partnerships with health systems, payers, and medical device companies • Support business development efforts that strengthen our investment case (customer pilots, LOIs, revenue partnerships) • Explore strategic investment opportunities from corporate venture arms and strategic investors • Build relationships with industry advisors, KOLs, and champions who can support fundraising efforts Required QualificationsExperience & Background • 7-12 years of experience in fundraising, investment banking, venture capital, or corporate development with focus on healthcare/medtech • Proven track record of successfully raising $20M+ in venture capital for early-stage healthcare/technology companies • Deep expertise in healthcare venture capital ecosystem with established relationships with Tier 1 healthcare VCs (Andreessen Horowitz Bio+Health, General Catalyst, Oak HC/FT, ARCH Venture Partners, etc.) • Experience with multiple funding stages (seed, Series A, Series B) and various instruments (SAFEs, priced rounds, convertible notes) • Healthcare industry knowledge with understanding of FDA regulatory pathways, reimbursement, health system procurement, and value-based care Technical Skills • Financial modeling expertise with advanced Excel/Google Sheets skills for building comprehensive financial projections and valuation models • Investment materials creation with proficiency in PowerPoint/Keynote, pitch deck design, and compelling data visualization • CRM and pipeline management with experience using tools like Affinity, Salesforce, or HubSpot to track investor relationships • Data room management with experience setting up and managing virtual data rooms (Dropbox, Box, DocSend) • Cap table management with knowledge of Carta, Pulley, or similar platforms Education • Bachelor's degree required in Finance, Business, Economics, or related field • MBA or advanced degree preferred (but not required with exceptional experience) Preferred (But Not Required) Qualifications • Prior experience at a healthcare-focused VC firm or corporate venture capital group • Experience with AI/ML companies and understanding of clinical AI regulatory landscape • Prior startup experience from seed to Series B/C with successful exits • Investment banking or management consulting background (McKinsey, Bain, BCG, Deloitte Healthcare) • Clinical background (MD, RN, PharmD) or healthcare operations experience • Board observer or advisory board experience • Track record of securing non-dilutive funding (NIH SBIR/STTR grants, ARPA-H, state grants) Compensation & BenefitsBase Compensation • Salary Range: $140,000 - $180,000 annually (commensurate with experience) • Equity: 0.5% - 1.5% equity stake with 4-year vesting (1-year cliff) • Performance Bonuses: Up to 30% of base salary tied to fundraising milestones and company KPIs Benefits Package • Health Insurance: Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage (100% premium covered for employee) • Retirement: 401(k) with 4% company match • Time Off: Unlimited PTO policy, 12 paid holidays, and wellness days • Professional Development: $5,000 annual budget for conferences, courses, and networking events • Equipment: Latest laptop, equipment, and home office stipend • Travel: Business class travel for international trips, premium economy for domestic • Wellness: Gym membership reimbursement, mental health support, and wellness programs • Work Environment: Flexible hybrid schedule, modern offices in Dublin & SF, regular team offsites All compensations depends on funding secured.
