Unarmed Events Specialist – School Events Philadelphia, Montgomery, Bucks, Delaware, Chester counties Cardinal Point Security Group is building teams of Event Staff Specialists to support our school clients, working special school events in the 5-county Southeastern Pennsylvania area Why Join Us? • Flexible scheduling • Supportive team environment • Meaningful work helping to create safe, positive school events Who should NOT apply: If you are looking for a passive, "warm body" security gig where you can sit on your phone and wait for the clock to run out, this role is not for you. We are looking for active engagement, not passive observation. About this role (A Trust-Based Role in a School Environment) This is more than just event staffing. You are the visible, professional presence that helps school events feel welcoming, calm, and safe. We are looking for individuals who understand that in a K-12 environment, hospitality and safety are inseparable. If you are attentive, respectful, and comfortable engaging with the public while maintaining order, this role is a strong fit. We are not just filling shifts - we are selecting people who know how to show up the right way. Duties & Responsibilities (The Mission): • Be a Visible Presence: Provide a friendly, approachable, and professional tone at all school events. • Proactive Awareness: actively monitor crowds and activity to maintain a safe, orderly environment (no "zoning out"). • Flow & Access: Support access control, guest check-ins, and manage attendee flow with a customer-service mindset. • Early Intervention: Identify and report concerns early to supervisors or school staff before they become problems. • Protocol Adherence: Strictly follow all school safety procedures and event protocols. The Right DNA (Qualifications): • Communication First: Strong verbal communication and de-escalation skills. • Presence: A calm, professional demeanor, even in busy environments. • Physical requirements: Ability to stand, walk, and remain active for extended periods. • Reliability: Reliable transportation and strictly professional punctuality. • Clearance: Must pass required school district background checks (non-negotiable). Experience in events, schools, security, hospitality, or public-facing roles is a plus—but character, awareness, and professionalism matter most. Schedule & Pay • Rate: $19.00 per hour. • Type: Part-Time / On-Call. • Hours: Evenings and weekends are common.
