Referral Coordinator – General and Specialty Cardiology Cardiac Study Center / Pulse Heart Institute Remote (WA only) | Full-Time | Monday–Friday | No Weekends or Holidays Pay Range: $21.31 – $38.59/hour About Us Cardiac Study Center (CSC) is a proud outpatient partner of Pulse Heart Institute, delivering trusted cardiology care throughout the Pacific Northwest for over 50 years. This position serves as a critical link between providers, insurance payors, and patients—helping ensure that all referrals and pre-authorizations are handled quickly, accurately, and with compassion. You’ll manage incoming and outgoing referral requests, verify insurance eligibility, follow up on pending authorizations, and respond to communications from the scheduling team, call center, and other clinic staff. This role plays a vital part in reducing patient delays, improving provider workflows, and enhancing the overall experience of care. Day-to-Day Responsibilities Referral Management Verify patient insurance eligibility for procedures and consultations Submit and track referral requests through pre-authorization channels Follow up weekly on pending referrals and communicate with external providers as needed Process and fax incoming/outgoing referral documentation Communication & Coordination Respond to referral-related calls and messages from the call center and clinic schedulers Manage email communications across multiple departments and document updates in EMR Work closely with team members in scheduling, billing, and the business office Administrative Support Participate in monthly bookkeeping meetings Provide general backup support to the Business Office Answer business office phone lines and assist with other tasks as assigned What You’ll Need to Succeed Minimum Qualifications 1 year of experience in healthcare or medical billing preferred Strong knowledge of health insurance processes and referral workflows Proficiency in Word, Excel, and Outlook Ability to use basic office equipment (computer, fax, printer, phone) Excellent communication, follow-up, and documentation skills Preferred Qualities Experience with EMR and referral tracking systems Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Empathy, patience, and a customer-service mindset Self-motivated, able to manage priorities in a remote setting Work Environment Schedule: Full-time, Monday–Friday, daytime hours Location: 100% remote; must reside in Washington state.
