Senior Operations Manager Job Description Job Title: Senior Operations Manager Department: Operations Reports To: Director of Operations FLSA Status: Exempt Summary: This position will oversee several high-profile sites. Is responsible for Caravan Facilities Management’s operating strategy and account development at the client location, knows the client’s operating profile, current and potential service requirements, and alternatives for creative service applications, labor utilization and application of new technologies. Determines the resource levels required by the site and secures client authorization for adjustments to the services, staffing, equipment, and material contracts. The Senior Operations Director maintains close communication with key senior managers at the plant, as well as Caravan FM’s direct reporting lines. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Safety Compliance & Oversight: Ensure all staff and subcontractors comply with customer and company safety requirements; review incident reports and corrective actions; observe safety practices during site visits; conduct monthly safety briefings. • Operational Planning & Efficiency: Oversee the Site Operating Plan (tasks, frequencies, staffing, materials, equipment) to meet contract needs and safety standards; identify process, technology, material flow, and staffing improvements to enhance performance and reduce costs. • Customer Coordination & Issue Resolution: Adjust operations based on customer feedback; build relationships with senior customer leaders; resolve major complaints promptly and implement root‑cause corrections. • Hiring & Personnel Management: Provide hiring guidelines, participate in interviews, and approve site manager recommendations; ensure proper new‑hire processing for HR, payroll, safety, and training; review training schedules; validate disciplinary actions and documentation before terminations. • Business Growth & Opportunities: Identify new business opportunities in projects, contract staffing, and new services; advise sales on customer background, plans, and key personnel.
