Role Overview: As a Senior Software Engineer on the Capital One Shopping team, you will play a critical role in designing and developing full-stack solutions that enhance the shopping experience for users. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to solve complex business challenges in a fast-paced, inclusive environment. What You'll Do: - You will design, develop, and maintain scalable full-stack applications that improve user engagement and shopping outcomes. - You will collaborate with product managers, designers, and other engineers to deliver high-quality features on time. - You will write clean, maintainable code and conduct code reviews to ensure best practices. - You will troubleshoot and resolve technical issues, optimizing performance and reliability. - You will participate in agile ceremonies and contribute to continuous improvement of development processes. - You will mentor junior engineers and share knowledge to foster team growth. - You will stay current with emerging technologies and incorporate them where appropriate. What You Bring: - 5+ years of professional experience in full-stack software development. - Proficiency in JavaScript, React, Node.js, and RESTful API design. - Strong understanding of cloud platforms, preferably AWS. - Experience with relational and NoSQL databases. - Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team. - Strong communication skills and a passion for mentoring others. Bonus Points If You Have: - Experience with microservices architecture and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes). - Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automated testing frameworks. - Background in e-commerce or shopping platforms. - Knowledge of data analytics and personalization algorithms.
