Role Overview: As a Senior Manager, Software Engineer at Capital One, you will lead a dynamic team of software engineers focused on developing cutting-edge solutions that integrate data with emerging technologies. Your role is pivotal in driving technical excellence, mentoring engineers, and delivering impactful products that meet real customer needs. What You'll Do: - You will lead and manage a team of software engineers, fostering a culture of innovation and high performance. - You will oversee the design, development, and deployment of scalable software solutions using Profile, PSL, and MUMPS technologies. - You will collaborate cross-functionally with product managers, data scientists, and other stakeholders to align engineering efforts with business goals. - You will drive best practices in software development, including code reviews, testing, and continuous integration. - You will mentor and coach engineers to support their professional growth and skill development. - You will identify and implement process improvements to enhance team productivity and product quality. - You will stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends to inform strategic decisions. - You will ensure compliance with security and regulatory standards in all software deliverables. What You Bring: - 8+ years of experience in software engineering with at least 3 years in a leadership or management role. - Strong expertise in Profile, PSL, and MUMPS programming languages and related technologies. - Proven track record of delivering complex software projects on time and within budget. - Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. - Experience with Agile methodologies and DevOps practices. - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; advanced degree preferred. Bonus Points If You Have: - Experience in the financial services industry or with fintech products. - Knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud. - Familiarity with data analytics and machine learning concepts. - Certifications in project management or software development.
